Doom (1993): We all know that Doom was the most mentioned video game when it comes to the topic of Columbine, being constantly blamed for causing the massacre Eric mentions Doom multiple times throughout his journal and saying "Doom is such a big part of my life… I know almost anything there is to know about that game…"

Doom II Hell On Earth (1994): Eric has made several maps for Doom II. Eric also sent emails to ID Software often, giving them suggestions and offering up comments such as "no matter what new games are invented and sold, I always have come back to doom2"

Quake(1996): Eric writes another email to ID Software saying "I have noticed now that Quake is the new “story” in the ID books"

Quake II (1997): Eric sends yet another email to ID Software talking about what he envisions Doom 3 to be saying "… [all of the old Doom monsters], all of them remade into an engine like the one used for quake 2." For better or worse Doom 3 didn't use Quake II's engine and plays almost completely different from the first two Doom's. Being a huge original Doom fan myself I don't think Eric would have liked it as much as the first two, he was only five years away from seeing Doom 3's launch in 2004. I'm sure he would have loved Doom 2016 though.


Dylan doesn't speak of games as much as Eric did in his writings but he does mention way more games than Eric. Here's the games Dylan mentions in his writings:

What are the chances that Adam Lanza played the 1997 shooter Postal?

The game ends with the protagonist trying to massacre an elementary school before having a mental breakdown.

As you can see there is a striking similarity between the ending of the game and the actual events that happened in Newtown, if there was a possibility that Adam had played this game and maybe even took inspiration from it? (not saying Adam played it just my opinion)
