What kind of 90s culture were Eric and Dylan into?

Did they watch Pokemon or something that was trending?

I think they were a bit old for Pokemon.

I think mostly the more alternative music and movies in the 90's. Nothing really poppy or anything like that.

Didn't Eric say in his website that he hated the WB? Also do you think they may have heard of Pokemon?

They heard of it I’m sure but I doubt they were into Pokemon

As a '99 graduate, yes, I'm sure they'd heard of Pokemon. But at that time, most of us were too old for it. I remember babysitting my cousin who was around 7 or 8 at the time and he collected the cards.

The top shows on The WB were Dawson’s Creek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Charmed. Then Angel (Buffy’s boyfriend) got his own show.

I loved Felicity lol... never got into Dawson's Creek or the others.

Doom was an icon of ‘90s geek culture.

I saw Titanic twice in the theater. Somehow I doubt that Eric and Dylan saw it even once.

Yea, I think even Rachel hated Titanic. Or at the very least the main song.

Eric and Dylan railed against mainstream culture for being conformist bullshit. They liked to take interests in movies, games, and (on rare occasion) books that were outside most people's tastes.

I can only speak from what I've read but they were into rock bands like KTFDM, Rammstein. I believe Eric was interested in germany, or maybe he took/learned german just because of rammstein. Both were into video games like Doom, both were probably online a lot with early messengers like AOL. Eric made websites for himself which screams 90's to me haha

They seemed to like to make movies as well

Nine inch Nails, he most bombastically angsty band of the early 90s, was a Dylan favorite and released their biggest album in 99
