Thank you but those weren't the kind of memes I was talking about seeing.
The kind of memes I saw had pictures taken from porn sites and then a sexually explicit fantasy or at times a non explicit thought about E &D written on them.
Those would use non porn pictures. Most of the time the pictures didn't show actual faces because they were somewhat blurred or taken from behind or too far away to make out the face clearly.

Actually, I can definitely see Eric as a Marine.  And if he could have gotten his mental issues under control, he could have been a good one. He scored quite high on the ASVAB and if he'd enlisted into the Corps right out of high school he would have probably gone into electronics or something like that.....unless he chose infantry or something he was over-qualified for. He would have probably been sent to Camp Pendleton or Miramar in California, where there are "dog tag chasers" everywhere, so he would have most likely had some luck with the ladies there.  

I'm not sure how waivers work, but I've known people who had waivers for medical issues so they could enter the military. I'm thinking that the military is much more lenient with medical waivers nowadays than they were back then.  So many teens have been on ritalin or either antidepressants at some point in their lives.

I think the military would have given him that sense of worth that he longed for.....and confidence.  And he would have enjoyed the camaraderie with fellow Marines. Plus, Eric was thin and built like a runner........and running is important......because of PFT's.  Eric was pragmatic, prompt, punctual, and knew how to get shit done when it needed to be done. Had it not been for his mental disturbances, he would have been a great Marine.

It's really sad......with the right mental help perhaps they could have both been successful.

Eric was definitely no idiot. If he continued on to do something with computers, I could see him becoming successful. But as a Marine, I'm not so sure.
Have you ever seen a video on youtube of how intense Marine bootcamp is? I've seen the most jacked, athletic manly men, cower at their kness, let alone a scrawny 130 pound kid.
Also having a drill instructor yelling insults in your face, up your ass 24/7, is something I couldn't see Eric dealing with to well, seeing as he hated authority figures, and being told what he can and couldn't do.

As far as the test he took, he actually scored pretty much dead center average on it, nothing special.

I do agree that if they both had gotten some sort of the help they needed, that they both could of ended up successful people.

I had never really looked at this thread before. I had seen a pic of Kevin when he was in h.s. and he looked a lot like Eric. I think Eric was a late bloomer like Kevin seemed to be. Kevin also looked to be on the smaller side Stands to reason then that Eric could have gotten bigger after h.s. so I think I could see him right there with both of them yes.

Yea. If something wouldn't have changed with his attitude I don't see him making it much past boot camp...but people said my brother wouldn't either and he did and is now part of the Air Force...so things can change I suppose!

I honestly don't think Eric would have gotten into the Marines. He wouldn't have passed the physical because of his chest deformity and he also had some kind of issue with one of his legs/knees. Back when I was in high school I knew someone who didn't pass the physical for the Marines because he had ingrown toenails. Something that is treatable and not even permanent and he was still rejected. So even if Eric wasn't on Luvox, I seriously doubt he would have made it through the physical.

I think you guys are underestimating smaller guys, lol.  Thin guys are the ones who do well on the PFT's and do well in boot camp.  Granted, Eric's attitude certainly needed some improvement. My husband is the same size Eric was and he has run a perfect PFT since he enlisted in the Corps in '99. I think Eric's attitude toward authority in the Marine Corps would have been much better than his attitude in high school.......simply because it was something he actually respected and wanted.....

I agree with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. My sister's boyfriend was in the army back in the late 90s/early 2000s (he's a year older than E&D). He was pretty thin in high school (taller than Eric though), and had that same attitude towards authority. He was reluctant about going to bootcamp and he hated it while he was there but he toughed it out. He was borderline scrawny when he left and he came back jacked. No one recognized him at first that's how different he looked. He also had several underlying medical conditions that weren't detected until after he had been in the army for several years. I know the marines are a lot more hardcore than the army, but I think Eric could have done it. He at least had a strong work ethic and that could have helped him push through it. As far as his chest condition, it didn't seem to affect his ability to play sports or live a normal, even active life. It seemed like a superficial deformity, not something severe like a heart condition. I hardly think he was a "wilted violet" by any means. Kids built like him were a dime a dozen at my high school and I knew several that went into the military. Its a shame really. He and Dylan didn't even give themselves a chance.

Sigh that picture of Kevin and Wayne tears me. Eric would've been part of that. Such an obvious elephant in the room..

Eric's brother is so handsome! And I agree, it's sad to think Eric could be there beside them
