On a separate less mentally ill note, I doubt it was because he was trying to feel something. It was probably a good part self-loathing.

I believe this testimony wasn't credible. I remember seeing a claim like this before and it was bundled with a package of claims by the same witness where he claims Lanza was disruptive in class, smoked, and drank alcohol, none of which sounds in character.
