| - Eric Harris had a total of 13 clips by the time NBK came about. He bought 4 initially on 22 November, 1998 at the Tannor gunshow and then 9 more from the Green Mountain Boys picking them up on 29 December, 1998. So, why did he only have 12 clips for his Carbine during the massacre? The 12 clips are listed by general location but there is no mention of his 13th clip; the Search Warrant for his home fails to mention it as well. Where was the 13th clip found and if possible to answer, why wasn't it used?
- More perplexing is with Dylan and his ammunition clips. First, why did he abandon a 50 round clip outside when it still had 40 rounds in side of it? Second, any idea why he left a 36 round clip (loaded with 34 rounds) inside his BMW rather than taking it with him?

| These are great questions that I unfortunately don't know the answer to. But there are people on the board who have spent a lot of time studying the weapons, ammunition, shots fired, etc. that may be able to answer them.
I know that we have speculated that Dylan's clip that was left out with 40 rounds still in it may have malfunctioned in some way, but there were people both for and against that idea.

| Actually, they are called magazines, not clips. I'm not sure what the deal was with Eric's magazines but as Wideawake said, I think that Dylan's 50 clip magazine malfunctioned and he left it behind. I'm not sure why he would leave a magazine in the car though. He could have been in a rush and forgot it. Maybe he didn't think he'd need it. (Remember, intentionally, this was supposed to be a bombing). I don't think the boys carried around a great deal of ammunition because they thought that their bombs would do most of the work.
You said 12 magazines were found. Did that include the one attached to the carbine? _________________ “And may you grow to be proud Dignified and true And do unto others As you'd have done to you”

| There were no magazines found in Eric's Carbine. There were 4 in the Library; 1 was near the windows on the east side of the library, 1 was empty at Eric's feet, and 2 were in his pocket (one with 10 rounds and the other with 8 rounds). | |

Page 012201: Item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] (IntraTec 9 mm Luger caliber pistol) was test fired using the magazine from item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] [50 round magazine] and test firing three of the live rounds from item [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. This firearm did function as designed during the test firings. The 50 round magazine was still functional and could have been used by Dylan.

| That's interesting. I always assumed he dumped it due to jamming. He may have just lost track of it during the shooting. I also makes me wonder if any of the other shooting victims made an attempt to stop Eric and Dylan. | |
