Eric's second shotgun?

"Newsweek also said, "Police searching Harris's room last week found a sawed-off shotgun and pipe-bomb ingredients in plain view." Apparently, the Harris parents were unaware of this."

I've seen this piece of information multiple times. Supposedly the police found another sawn off shotgun in Erics room. Is there any truth to this? Eric lists he and Dylan's weapons in his journals but he never mentions him owning a second shotgun. I know one of the boys had a sawn off BB gun that they used during their nighttime missions. Is it possible the Police mistook the BB gun for a real one? Could it be that they simply found the sawn off stock from Erics shotgun and never corrected the news reports?

I presume that it was probably the BB gun mixup. Interesting though that it has been cited multiple times.

Yeah I figured it was the BB gun. Its just odd that info even got out to begin with as its easy to tell the difference once you pick one up. There's no way a cop would report a BB gun as the real deal. I think it may have been misinterpreted on the medias part. New Columbine info was a hot commodity during the days and weeks after the attack. There was shockingly little fact checking across the board and some outlets even seemed willing to alter or ignore the truth.

I just thought of the two rushing the school with potato guns and shooting spuds everywhere

Considering this was Jeffco, I can almost think they would be stupid enough to mistake the BB gun for a real shotgun.

Have you ever been hit by a potato from a tater launcher? Those bastards hurt like hell! Could easily cause a black eye and leave some major bumps/lumps and bruises.
