Just curious. I don't really have anyone in my day to day life that shares my interest of true crime. To be honest, a lot don't understand why it would interest someone. I guess for me I've just always been interested in what goes through the minds of killers and why they do what they do. What about you?

My husband was a retired police officer who got me interested in crime stories. We would spend hours watching Forensic Files and other shows such as this. He passed away 4 years ago. I love to watch the 48 hours mystery as well.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and thank him for his service. I also have watched those shows as well, I can't get enough of crime shows. I thought about going into law enforcement for awhile myself, but after thinking for a while, I decided I couldn't do it. I enjoy the mysteries, the hows and whys, but seeing it on tv and the internet is totally different than seeing it in person. Seeing how evil we can be to each other, to children, animals. I just know I wouldn't be able to do it. I have the highest respect for those who do.

It's hard to say...It just sucked me in last year. I guess mainly just being stunned that two high school teenagers were able to pull off something like that. The "Final Report" and "Zero Hour" documentaries hooked me.

Too much time watching CSI when I was a youngster
Also, I find true crime to be just so enigmatic. There are so many events where you get that "I know exactly what I was doing when I heard about it" feeling and it makes you just wanna research more and more, until you fall down the rabbit hole I guess.

I'm interasted in Columbine because I see myself as a blend of both Eric and Dylan.

I became interested in the topic of mass murderers, because some of them are so enigmatic that it makes me want to know what was going on in the minds of these murderers

Being a child in the 1980's and living in Yorkshire, UK I was really interested in the Yorkshire Ripper and the Moors Murders. An interest in true crime grew from that. I remember Columbine happening but didn't take a great interest/research till about 2 years ago.

I was over in Yorkshire the other week checking out some of Harold Shipman's old haunts.

I graduated HS only 1 year after. Someone turned on the live coverage in school.
Then later I found out the killers were into a lot of similar music, hobbies, etc. I felt like we would have had some of the same friends. A lot of the stuff in the case that seems violent, strange, or dangerous wasn't really all that odd for teen guys in America at that time - its just that people didn't cross it over into actually harming others. That's why they flew under the radar, imo.
In the immediate aftermath there did seem to be some unanswered questions so I checked up on the case in the years following and now it seems every few years I look it up again. Also the fact that it was two killers has always stood out.
