1994 Tian Mingjian Incident

I haven't really seen any discussion to do with this so i thought i'd bring it up but basically it was a Mass Shooting that occurred in Beijing China. A Chinese army officer named Tian Mingjian wanted to have a second son but China Child policy would not let him have another child, After some officers found out at the base they had his wife get an abortion which she ended up dying from which made him resent the Army officers and officials.

On September the 20th in the camp during a drill he opened fire on Troops and Drill Officers killing a Commissar and 3 other Officials who tried to stop him, injuring 10, he then either hijacked a jeep or took a bus into the city where he opened fire on civilians in the streets killing 17 civilians including an Iranian diplomat and his son, after his rampage in the streets of Beijing the Gunman had a gun battle with police in which he killed 7 policeman until he was forced into a dead end where his rampage ended as the gunman was shot by a government sniper.

The Shootings left 29 Dead and 80 Injured

I thought i would bring it up as there have been many massacres in China that have lead to large amounts of Deaths but not much is known about them due to the Chinese governments censorship and copycat control laws, This was the worst mass shooting in China involving one gunman.

Sounds like something from a movie. Speaking of movies, has anyone else noticed that when shootings are portrayed in the media, the causalities are wildly unrealistic? Like, they'll have a huge kill count with no wounded? A strangely specific gripe I know, but It's something I've been noticing.

That sounds interesting. I can really understand his anger. They killed his wife, and to add insult to injury the child was a male. He wanted a male child, and when he nearly gets one it's taken away from him along with his own wife.
