| I have a question that I would appreciate getting your opinions on!
How physically strong were Eric and Dylan? I keep looking at Cassie in the library in Zero Hour, and she literally has the gun to her face. Do you think she could have pushed it away and played dead? I know that probably nobody would think clearly enough to move the shotgun, but what do you think?

| Eric and Dylan were both very skinny and they wouldn't have done much, Dylan had 145lbs while Eric had 140lbs. However, I don't think Cassie would have survived either way. In case of a scenario where she attempts to disarm them, it wouldn't end well, as the other one would quickly rush to help. | |

| Dylan was strong when he played baseball and beginning of Junior year seemed more broad, but by NBK he was gaunt and thin due to his weight loss.
Cassie may have been too scared to try anything. It seems like it was quick too. _________________ "And you know, you know, you know, this can be beautiful, you say you're numb inside, but I can't agree. So the world's unfair, keep it locked out there. In here it's beautiful."

| Cassie had her hands over her ears and she wasn't looking, so she may not have been aware where Eric was. Also, I think Eric shot her at pretty close range, so as mentioned above it was all very quick.
I do wonder though if Eric and Dylan felt everyone they shot that day died, or if they knew a number of them were just "playing dead" or were left injured.

| I bet they at least thought Richard Castaldo, Lance Kirkland and Sean Graves died? Also if they realized the amount of times Val and Patrick Ireland got shot they would assume they were dead. _________________ "And you know, you know, you know, this can be beautiful, you say you're numb inside, but I can't agree. | I agree with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Most library survivors said they did not have a clear picture of where the shooters were walking because they had their head down and eyes closed or they were playing dead. Cassie probably closed her eyes and hoped they would skip over her. I doubt E&D thought everyone who was shot was killed, but they would probably be surprised to know that the number (thankfully) was not higher. I wonder if they thought they hit any law enforcement that day... | |

True. I'm sure they both though they had killed at least 25 people. I'm sure they thought they had killed people like Richards Castaldo, Lance Kirklin, and Patrick Ireland |

Agreed. Cassie was probably petrified. I assume Eric just shoved the gun under the table and shot very fast. I doubt Cassie would have had the time to move, grab/push the gun away, even if she hadn't been scared out of her mind. |

| Neither of the boys were probably very strong, although with that much adrenaline running through them, who knows what they were capable of on that day. | |

| Lauren was very tall and an athlete, there was so much gunfire at that table I don't think she would have had time to react either
Evan Todd may have been big enough to try to take them down, but they were all scared kids who is thinking that way? _________________ "And you know, you know, you know, this can be beautiful, you say you're numb inside, but I can't agree. | There have been numerous posts about who could have stopped them either physically or emotionally and really honestly I think nothing but a shot from a gun could have stopped them that day.
I don't think they could have been talked out of it and I don't think any of the people in the school were brave enough to stop them. _________________ Hold me now I need to feel complete Like I matter to the one I need

| I agree [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Nothing deterred them, once they put the plan in motion they were going through with it until they died. They planned for months for NBK. Appealing to their emotions would have done nothing. No matter the size of some of the students, the nature of their "selection" made the best option (for those in the library) to hide and hope they weren't noticed. Drawing attention to yourself by trying to fight them would have been a suicide mission. | |
