Subject: Mass murders with unusual weapons Mon Jan 15, 2018 12:14 am
I do not know if there were already a topic on this subject, there were many mass murders committed with unusual or unexpected weapons and the majority of them are unknown and some doesn't even have virtual information concerning them.
Robert Kerby K. 1986 - German who killed 2 people and wounded 5 to 10 with a wooden plank in Angoda, Sri Lanka
Alejandro Amigó Vergara 1974 - Chilean who killed 4 people and injured 9 with rocks in Talca, Chile
Khun Sri Supahat 1914 - Thai who killed 1 and injured 15 in Sao Ching Cha, Thailand, he used a knife for the majority of the attacks, but used a lamppost and a plate as well
Marivaldo Teixeira da Silva 2015 - Brazilian who injured 18 people with a chair in Brasília, Brazil inside a school
Maropally ricepounder rampage 1936 - this one is unusually deadly and unusual, a Hindu killed 14 family members and wounded 2 others in Maropally with a ricepounder. This is confusing at least, since the ricepounder is a simple sort of machine, not a handheld object
Cirumput bare hands rampage 1988 - Indonesian women identified as O. L killed 10 children and injured 2 with his bare hands and barefoot
Martin Philip Parkinson 1974 - Australian who killed 1 person and injured 12 with a shovel, a milk bottle. He did also use a car, but he used shovel for the majority of the attacks

I don't know many with weapons as unusual as the one's above, but I know of a couple interesting firearm/ammunition choices;
An unknown Soviet border guard killed 10 and wounded 13 at workers vacation camp with explosive bullets.
Matthew J. Murray attacked New Life's Church with a .223 Bushmaster XM-15, which he had modified to fire the slightly larger 6.8mm round.
John Zawhari was armed with a homemade AR-15, constructed from various parts bought online, and an old school cap-and-ball muzzleloading revolver
Sebastian Bosse used a sawn off .22 , a sawn off percussion rifle, a cap lock pistol, and homemade explosives, including smoke bombs. Predictably, he wasn't able to kill a single person except for himself, although he was able to wound 5 with his gunfire and 16 with his smokebombs.

First murderer who came in my mind after reading title was of course...
Walter Seifert.
He killed 10 people (including 8 children aged 9-12) with a homemade flamethrower, lance and mace. He also injured 22 more people, and then killed himself.
What's even worse, children victims died of burns in the following days of the massacre, so imagine the pain they were going through before their deaths. Everytime I read about it, it gives me goosebumps. Shooters like Lanza or Hamilton at least killed those kids fastly, without too much pain. But burning kids alive is another level of bestiality.

Something similar happened in 2017 in Janaúba, Brazil, a night watchman named Damiao Soares dos Santos poured gasoline on himself and on the children and set them and himself on fire. He killed 10 children aged 4 and 5 and 3 other people of the school. Very brutal. Seifert very brutal and gruesome also.

He killed himself by swallowing a shit ton of insecticide too. That's pretty shitty way to die.

Yeah, and it took him 1 day to die which makes it worse.

A man named Randy Rodriguez Santos killed 4 homeless people with a 13 pound piece of construction metal. This happened in NYC’s Chinatown district on October 5th, 2019.

A 38-year-old man named Nicolae Lungu killed 7 people and injured 6 others with a metal infusion stand at a hospital in Romania.
Reminds me of this case in Portugal in 1911, where a man used a crutch to "mortally injure" nine people in the Asilo dos Entrevados in Braga, Portugal.
Also, I see that you mentioned David Cedric Morgan in the mass stabbings thread. This popped a question in my mind: Did you see my thread on Morgan? Just curious haha.

I did not.
Oh, I see.
Also, I have two news examples of unusual weapons:
Edson da Silva: used a piece of wood to knock out most of his victims, then set fire to the bodies, killing six;
Esker Washington Gibson: used a chair to knock out his wife, then set fire to his house, killing six.

A schizophrenic Chinese man named Yang Shitou broke free from his room in a mental hospital and stabbed 4 women with a chopstick, killing 3. That’s the most Chinese weapon I’ve ever heard of.

I know this weapon is not unusual, but I would like to mention Edmundo do Nascimento Rosa, since he is one of the few Brazilians who actually managed to do a bomb attack, if I might say, right?
His homemade bombs consisted of eletric motors of fridges and vehicles and he obtained dynamite sticks in the city of Lins. Another of his bomb consisted of a electric iron connected to an outlet over a can filled with gasoline. Benearth, they found two sticks of dynamite.
I think a Brazilian using this method of murder is highly unusual, and purchasing explosive materials in Brazil (I don't know specific laws) is amazingly easy, yet people do not chose this method. Sorry if I might sound biased about this.

Not mass murderers, but I would like to mention those weapons used in assassinations, and single murders:
Assassin of Agathocles of Syracuse: murdered him with a poisoned toothpick;
Luigi Lucheni: stabbed Empress Elizabeth of Austria with a thin file, which pierced her pericardium and a lung. She did not realize what had happened and walked for a while, then collapsed;
In Early 1903 an unnamed person was beaten to death with a Bible by a Kahuna during a healing ceremony gone wrong in Honolulu;
Brad Davis: Altough not an intentional murderer, I think he deserves a mention since he killed the victim during a fight. Denver Lee St. Clair was killed by an atomic wedgie by his stepson Davis. After he had been knocked unconscious, the elastic band from his torn underwear was pulled over his head and stretched around his neck, strangling him.
