How has the Parkland shooting effected your community?

Typically after any high profile mass school shooting there are multiple copy cats and threats called into schools.

In the pass few weeks there have been threats to every single school in my district. There was even an incident with a teacher bringing a gun to school and firing it (no one was hurt, luckily)

For the past two months I've had an internship up at the county jail. And while I was up there last week, two (unrelated) threats were reported by my niece's school administration; one at the high school and one at the middle school. This happened on the same day! I witnessed the teenager who threatened the high school being booked and processed. He looked about 15 or 16 years old. I almost felt pity for the kid because he truly didn't understand the gravity of what he had done. He seemed more worried about his mother's reaction once she bailed him out. However, he was charged with a felony, he isn't going anywhere. Thankfully, none of these threats have been serious and all of them have been handled quickly. But it got me thinking,

Has anything like this happened recently in your community?

Pretty much every high school and most middle schools around here have had some sort of threats made as well. They all proved to be false. Apparently these idiots think it's funny, and do it as a way to get out of school.

Not at all. Shit like this doesn't happen here.

There's been 2 walkouts so far at my high school because of the shooting, and there are going to be 2 more. Thankfully there hasn't been any threats towards the school

lots of shooting threats where i live

my school can't go a week without giving us some kind of "Run, Hide, Fight" assembly or video to show us. I think Parkland really opened the eyes for a lot of school districts and will probably serve as this generation's Columbine.

I haven't seen or heard it mentioned in my country, the only place where i've read about it is on this forum.
