Multiple people, including a pregnant woman, shot at Texas football game

At least five people, including a pregnant woman, were shot at Texas football game Sunday night, authorities said.

A man drove a moped onto the field in Dallas and opened fire on spectators, according to cops. Several people in the crowd returned fire at the unidentified man.

A wounded pregnant woman underwent an emergency C-section and is in critical condition, according CBS in Dallas-Fort Worth. The baby is OK.

Another woman is in critical condition, and a woman and two men are in stable condition.

It’s not clear if the suspect is among the injured, but cops said they are looking for two shooters, according to CBS.

Video on social media shows people on the football field running for cover as multiple gunshots and screams can be heard in the background.

A man who recorded video at the scene said he dodged about 10 bullets, according to CBS.

At least five people were injured, including a pregnant woman, when two shooters unleashed a hail of bullets at a Texas football game on Sunday, police said.

The group of people were at a park around 9:30 p.m. in Dallas’ Fair Park neighborhood when shots rang out, KDFW reported. A video posted on to social media showed people arguing before they began screaming when several gunshot-like sounds were heard in the background

The man who recorded the video said at least 10 shots rang out. Police arrived at the scene and applied tourniquets to the shooting victims.

The wounded pregnant woman was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. The woman had an emergency C-section to save the baby, CBS DFW reported. The baby survived, but the woman remains in critical condition as of Monday morning.

Another woman and two men suffered gunshot wounds to their legs. A third woman suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Their conditions were not immediately clear.

Police were scavenging the football field Monday morning for evidence. Police told the news station they are looking for two shooters, but have not released details about the suspects.

It's unclear what the motive of the shooting is at this time.

It was supposed to be a neighborhood versus neighborhood football game in South Dallas at the Juanita Craft Recreation Center.

However, during the Sunday evening game, witnesses describe what happened feeling like something out of a war movie.

Police say it started with one person getting on a moped, driving into the center of the field, and opening fire into the crowd. Others then returned bullets. “Probably a few hundred, if not more," says Deputy Chief, Thomas Castro.

Five people were hit. Two women are in critical condition, one woman is stable condition, and two men are also in stable condition.

One of the women victims is a pregnant teenager who was shot in the chest. She was brought to Baylor Hospital where doctors performed an emergency C-section. She lost a lot of blood, but the baby is in good condition.

Another one of the victims is a woman who was shot in the head. She is expected to survive.

The third woman showed up to Baylor Hospital by a private vehicle with a gunshot to her leg.

The two men were both shot in the legs. Police officers applied tourniquets to the men while waiting for EMS to arrive.

Police on scene also applied a chest seal to the teenager, which is a special bandage designed for a gunshot wound.  “We did have South East Patrol respond to the location. As they approached, they saw some victims wounded, there at the location. They applied their training and the techniques that were taught, and they did treat these victims prior to them being transported,” says Deputy Chief Castro.

At this point it is unclear if the five people were targeted, or were simply caught in the crossfire.

Cops are currently trying to determine if it was gang related. Deputy Chief Castro says, “At this point no one has come forward to give us a definite identity of the suspect.”

In the video you can hear an argument before shots are fired. “We still need someone who saw something,” Deputy Chief Castro says they are willing to pay up to $5,000 to someone who knows why this happened and who started it. At this point they do not know how many shooters there were, and have not named any of them.

“When someone shoots into a crowd like that, it’s alarming, very alarming,” says Deputy Chief Castro.

Damn spectators returned fire of a few hundred shots?  They were lucky only 5 were hurt with that many bullets flying.  It'll  take forever to determine who was shot by who.

Probably more injured, also damn, a pregnant teen. It must really suck getting pregnant as a teenager.

Also an epic way to do a driveby shooting I guess. Sounds like a thug got creative. I wonder if the suspect is hit and just never went to the hospital.
