Although I cannot recall the exact document, I recall reading somewhere in the DESP that these were a mix of 17 round magazines and 20 round magazines.

Yeah he either had practice or was extremely lucky. That's similar to Charles Whitman (UT bell tower shooter) he was a trained marksman which was one of the reasons the shooting was as bad as it was. He actually shot a pregnant woman in the stomach to kill her baby then shot the guy she was with that rushed to help her. To use Columbine as an example if Eric and Dylan had this guys training and knowledge it would have been much much worse

In Dylann Roof's case he honestly probably didn't need to be accurate or lucky since it was such close quarters. It was pretty much like shooting fish in a barrel since the area was pretty confined and most of the victims were cowering/hiding as opposed to running or fighting (other than 1 victim).

David Ali Sonboly carried 2 17 round magazines for his Glock 17.

The information about the magazines is in file sup 26, pages 19, 18, 36. I determined that there was a third 14 round magazine by using a bit of thinking on my own with the help of the CCTV timeline.
PM me if you feel too lazy to find the timeline of the shooting.

Seifeddine Rezgui Yacoubi actually carried 5 30 round magazines. He also carried 3 hand grenades and fireworks.

Robert killed 8 people, but he did kill himself if you count that as 9. I agree that he was accurate during the shooting.

Sixty bullets is a lot of bullets
Normally yes, but for a mass shooting it's actually pretty light. Most killers take hundreds of rounds and something like a dozen magazines.
Interesting. I wonder if there's a correlation between some shooters expecting or wanting to exchange gunfire with police or other armed people, and highest amounts of ammo. Obviously Paddock expected but didnt want police interference and he had thousands of rounds and fired something like a thousand rounds. But i wonder.

He had at least 6 magazines in his vest, one in the bolt action Mossberg Predator rifle, two magazines attached together on the Ruger AR-556, and the drum magazine in the Windham Weaponry WW-15.
The 10 magazines I listed are the ones he bought online, it's possible he bought more magazines in store.
