| I came across this article from 25th April 1999. It is amazing how much it gets wrong, so I thought it would amuse you all. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]My highlight is when Rachel Scott is shit after Cassie in the library. | |

| I've barely researched Columbine and even I can see how wrong this article is! _________________ "If opportunities for role fulfilment fall far short of the demand by those capable of filling roles, and having expectations to do so, only violence and disruption of social organization can follow. Individuals born under these circumstances will be so out of touch with reality as to be incapable even of alienation. Their most complex behaviors will become fragmented. Acquisition, creation and utilization of ideas appropriate for life in a post-industrial cultural-conceptual-technological society will have been blocked." - John B. Calhoun

| It is funny how much they got wrong, but it was only 5 days after the shooting. A lot of confusion was still going on about what happened. |

| I still remember how scared my mom was of the trenchcoat Mafia. She thought they probably had cells all throughout the country and would attack at any time..... _________________ "And you know, you know, you know, this can be beautiful, you say you're numb inside, but I can't agree. Like a real mafia lol! More like an edgier and significantly more acne ridden version of Al-Qaeda. _________________ "If opportunities for role fulfilment fall far short of the demand by those capable of filling roles, and having expectations to do so, only violence and disruption of social organization can follow. I'm not kidding when I say trenchcoats were literally banned at my school. The irony is I went to school in the deep south where it wasnt uncommon for kids to have hunting rifles in their cars parked at school because they would go hunting early before school or after. Reminds me of a newspaper headline I saw on 12 September 2001. It claimed that forty thousand people had died in the twin towers. What the hell? My first thought was that that couldn't be right. That would have accounted for about 80% of the people in the towers, the vast majority of which were below the impact points. Somebody wrote a letter to the editor in which they asked him how the paper managed to arrive at that figure. He blamed the confusion on the day. | |

Lol I can believe it! My HS was a bit like Columbine but I think in many ways a lot more liberal, there were goths and alternative kids and they were all just kind of in their own groups... live and let live, day after Columbine. Trenchcoats were banned, any kid that veered away from the preppy look or was kind of a a loner (so me...) were dealt with, I was called to the counselors office that week along with a ton of other kids for a check in.... _________________ "And you know, you know, you know, this can be beautiful, you say you're numb inside, but I can't agree. | I posted about this type of stuff not long ago: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] There are so many misconstrued articles out there. Those articles were basically the basis for all the rumors and false information that some people still believe as fact to this day. Most mainstream media outlets are in the business of selling a good story, not bringing the facts to light, which in the case of columbine really did more harm than good. | |
