BEIJING — Five people died Monday in a shooting in China's Inner Mongolia region, authorities said.
An individual shot and killed five people before being apprehended by police, authorities said in Inner Mongolia's eastern Kailu county.
Police did not describe the suspect, provide a motive or say whether anyone else was injured.
Gun crime is rare in China, where private firearm ownership is almost entirely forbidden. But guns can be purchased on the black market through online dealers.

That's interesting and sad at the same time. I always get interested in shootings that happened in China. Did you ever heard of the 1995 Zhaodong mass shooting?

Never thought I would see a mass shooting happen in China of all places. But then again, I thought the same thing for New Zealand. I wonder how much longer until we see a mass shooting in other Asian countries?

I really think 2019 will be the year of non-American Mass Shootings.

Yeah, this is weird. I wonder if a shooting that is not related to terrorism will happen in Europe where gun control is rather strict.

I actually have heard of it although I haven't done much specific research on it but I have a feeling there probably isn't a ton out there given China's censorship of these type of events

There was even a discussion at Wikipedia discussing on whether this incident happened or not. It turned out that it happened. Very bizarre but very interesting. And yes, about this shooting there's not much info to search about. Good day to you!
