PostSubject: Ammo Count   Ammo Count Icon_minitimeThu Apr 18, 2019 1:55 pm

Is there a place where it listed how much ammo of shot gun shells, 9mm, molotovs and pipebombs eric and dylan each had and used that day?

I know there is how many were shot:

Dylan --
9mm rounds fired:
outside the school: 3, inside the school: 31, library: 21
(total 55)
Shotgun rounds fired:
outside the school: 2, inside the school: 4, library: 6
(total 12)
Total rounds fired: 67

Eric --
9mm rounds fired:
outside the school: 47, inside the school: 36, library: 13
(total 96)
Shotgun rounds fired:
inside the school: 4, Library: 21
(total 25)
Total rounds fired: 121

It's said they had 27 pipe bombs but not sure if they used all of them and how many each were carrying

Can find it in that list, but since it was asked and isn't the easiest reading:
35 pipe bombs, 14 detonated, 21 duds
45 crickets, 8 detonated, 37 duds
9 molotov cocktails, 2 worked (detonated? ignited?), 7 duds

Not sure if that counts those used in the larger bombs or not. The diversion bomb seemed to be aerosol canisters igniting pipe bombs igniting propane tanks; the pipe bombs were also supposed to set off the two propane tanks in the car bomb, with Dylan's car using 8 to Eric's just 1.

Also not sure where you got 27. If you simply count the pipe bombs Eric lists in his journal, you get 25, which might be what you are referencing.

Interestingly, it means the cocktails are the easy part: The one Dylan threw on camera in the cafeteria which lit the gas can attached to the propane bomb, and the one presumably Dylan lit before they committed suicide. Wonder if those had a different solution; maybe only those 2 were 'napalm'. I guess it means the fire in the storage closet or whatever next to the science room was a cricket or pipe bomb, or they lit a towel with matches or something.

Who carried what would be interesting, for I've seen it detailed various ways. Would also like to retrace the bombs thrown while outside. Other than the first one thrown, one was thrown onto the roof, I believe as they approached the west entrance to enter the school. I'm not confident detailing any others.

Some have speculated Dylan's job was to throw the pipe bombs, hence he shot so few times with the TEC-9 outside. Others have said this cant be as the bag with the pipe bombs was by Eric at the top of the stairs. Others have said Dylan's gun was jamming. I tend to think regardless Dylan's job was to descend the stairs (as he did) and shoot those fleeing the main cafeteria exits with the TEC-9, so he was simply saving ammunition. Hence, while he had a problem firing the TEC-9 more than three times, he had no problem emptying the shotgun into Lance's face. All the pipe bombs accounted for could possibly settle that score, for one example of the insights gained.

Thanks for the info, this is where I got the number 27: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I like your insights about Dylan's "job(s)" all of that could very well of been the case.

Keep in mind there are also some discrepancies regarding the number of shots fired.

According to the CNN Final Report:

Eric 9mm Shots: 96
Eric Shotgun Shots: 25
Dylan 9mm Shots: 55
Dylan Shotgun Shots: 12

According to the CBI Report in the 11k:

Eric 9mm Shots: 107
Eric Shotgun Shots: 25
Dylan 9mm Shots: 56
Dylan Shotgun Shots: 12

Good point about the discrepancy. I wonder where Dylan used the shotgun in the halls - both say he used it twice.

I like your insights about Dylan's "job(s)" all of that could very well of been the case.

I see now. Lots of problems there, aside from the 27. It mentions Eric wore his hat, which seems false. It mentions only 2 20 propane tanks (i. e, the cafeteria bombs), but the car bombs had two each.  Dylan's car bomb did not detonate at 11 pm, the bomb squad disrupted it, and very obviously, it's daylight in the picture.  Also nothing apparently "half detonated", Dylan's molotov just lit the gas can connected to the propane tank.  The police slice opened the bag, it's not from an explosion. Also I am pretty sure that's the other bomb, hence nothing (including the bag) is burnt. The orange bag, not the blue one, had the bomb with the gas can which caught fire.

So, maybe a decent first place to look, but I think there's too many errors to trust it even where it's correct.

And on Dylan's job, others will disagree but I feel pretty confident about it. I don't think they were going to shoot from the parking lot. I don't think they knew anything failed when they started shooting. I think they have no clue the first bomb did not work until the cafeteria comes into view and he enters it. "He entered the cafeteria to check on the bombs" doesn't make sense if he already knew the first bomb failed, imo. So I think he was always going down the stairs as part of the original plan.  I also think they thought Dylan had the best guns, perhaps his reward for coming up with NBK. So, all together, I think he was tasked with descending the stairs and shooting the exits, because he came up with NBK in the first place, and that's why he only shot three times before going down the stairs. It does seem his gun jammed with the 50-round clip, but it also seems he got the next one working and still only shot thrice.
