Beslan School Siege

The Beslan School Siege was a hostage crisis that lasted from September 1-3 2004 in which 34 Chechen and Ingush militants arrived at School N#1 in the town of Beslan in Russia and took over 1,100 children, teachers, guests and parents hostage on the first day of school and demanded that Russian troops leave the republic of Chechnya and recognize it as an independent country.


The siege lasted for 3 days, and it ended in a bloody slaughter of the hostages and shootout with special forces which resulted in 33 of the attackers dying with only the remaining terrorist being taken alive by authorities. 334 people (including 186 children) died in the siege and 437 people were hospitalized

That's a really intense hostage situation and thanks for making a topic on it. I couldn't imagine the fear of the children and the adults inside this warm school.

It still baffles me that even a terror group would target a school full of kids. What sick bastards to do that. There is a really good showtime documentary on this topic that I highly recommend called 3 days in September
