What are the most notorious crimes in your state/country in recent memory?

I live in South Carolina, so for me that would be Dylann Roof, Brittanee Drexel and Timothy Jones Jr.

Las Vegas Massacre (USA), 2015 Tyrone Shooting (Missouri)

Pretty sure the only truly notorious criminal up here is Son of Sam. Arthur Shawcross is notable but not truly notorious IMO. Likewise the Happy Land fire is one of the worst mass murders in American history but is rarely discussed. I can't think of any others.

Hm, that's my state and I've never heard of that shooting. I'd go with Shawn Hornbeck's kidnapping because that was everywhere all over the news at the time. Especially when he was found.

Two things that come to mind are the very recent (last month) mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio
and the Ariel Castro kidnappings

The Northern Illinois University shooting.

Camden shooting, Charles Cullen, and John List.

Aurora theater shooting, Highlands ranch STEM school(not notorious, just personal), Columbine, Thornton walmart shooting, and the Platte Canyon HS hostage situation

I also forgot to mention the stabbing of the Dutch Fork student Da’von Nathaniel Capers by Kierin Marcellus Dennis outside the Cookout in Lexington. Then you also have the shooting in High Points of USC student Martha Childress who was paralyzed from the waist-down in 2013 (or was it 2015?) by Bloods gang member Michael Juan Smith, the forest acres police officer who was killed by Jarvis Hall, the man who fatally shot his girlfriend and a police officer who became infamous for his disturbing behavior in court, Joshua Tremaine Jones, the 2018 Florence, South Carolina shooting by Fred Hopkins, and serial killer Todd Kohlhepp.

Probably Kevin Dahlgren. He murdered a family of four (his relatives that he lived with during his stay in the Czech Republic), then he attempted to burn the house down and flew from Vienna to Washington D.C. where he was arrested at the airport. He became the first U.S. citizen to be extradited to the Czech Republic, which is, I guess, one of the reasons it became notorious, and also because of the gruesomeness (victims were stabbed with a machete or an axe and beaten with a rock). Last year he commited suicide in prison.

The 2016 Kalamazoo Shooting, The Bath School Disaster, and the Warren Fitzgerald High School Stabbing are pretty notorious in Michigan. I don't know that many others, but those are the first three that come to mind.

Probably Tristan van der Vlis. He shot 6 people dead and wounded 17 others in a mall before killing himself. Here in the Netherlands mass shootings like that are very, very rare... If i recall correctly his was inspired by E&D

Nikko Jenkins, Robert Hawkins, and Charles Starkweather with his girlfriend. The Nikko Jenkins video has 35 million views on YouTube with some pretty funny comments. Robert Butler Jr. has a page on Dr. Langman's website too since you guys like school shooters.

I live in Germany and a few weeks ago there was an attack. A 27-year-old man wanted to blow up a synagogue. But did not work. Two people were shot. He hated jews and the day he planned the attack was a jewish holiday
