Did Eric ever play other video games? Seems to be no mention of consoles so that seems to rule out games on those platforms. Was he only married to the idea of Doom? How bout Wolfenstein considering his Nazi/German admiration.

I believe he played a lot of Quake and Duke Nukem. I think he also mentioned Wolfenstein a few times.

I'm guessing Eric played lots and lots and LOTS of Super 3D Noah's Ark.

And here I figured all of his survival training really came from Mega Oregon Trail-Defying Dysentery Edition

So while trolling though this site, I came across a poll on which games would Eric likely play. I noticed Fallout 1/2 was on that list. Both games came out in 97-98 respectively.
While was not into fallout until a decade after their atrocity, I could see this being something Eric might/woulda been into. I personally have become a huge fallout fan and own and played all but fallout 1. Now I get Eric was into the whole shoot em up Doom/Duke thing but Eric seemed to have had this hard on for an apocalypse. This seems like a game he would have enjoyed. More so now since it is a first/third person and not the top down third person of 97-98 vintage.

I think Halo, the first one in particular because it is the goriest, would have been a wet dream for Eric.

before it was integrated by Microsoft for the OG Xbox and released in 2001, Halo was gonna release on MAC/PC as a third person shooter, the first demo was shown in 1998, so I wonder if Eric knew about it?

I can agree that Eric would probably enjoy the first two Fallout games. It's a game about a post apocalyptic setting in which a nuke has gone off... seems like a no brainer that he would enjoy them to me. I've played both of them and they seem like they'd be something he would enjoy. I'm not too sure how much he really played RP games. He seemed to just like shoot-em up stuff more.

In Eric's 'FIGHTME' wad text file, he credits "Mortal Kombat for the idea of hand to hand fighting". Zack Heckler also mentions in his statement that Eric played the game 'Postal'.

I read that from SororityAlphas Erics wads thread.

It would appear he really didn't. He may never had heard of it either. I don't think it was marketed very well as I never heard of it back then until Bethesda took over and released FO3 in 08. I ended up being the weird one liking FO3 where a lot of the original FO1/2 fan base was extremely critical. But I digress
