Westroads Mall Shooting - April 17, 2021

WHAT!?!?! What the actual hell?



One person shot in critical condition. Shooter fled the scene. Current whereabouts of the shooter are unknown.

The shooter is no longer in the mall. (Only real silver lining here.)

The Sun reports that there were two shooters. Both fled the scene.

Two people were shot, one critically. Mall closed for the reminder of the day.

Man shot at and put in critical condition is now dead.

Man and woman (not sure if they were related were shot)  The woman sustained minor injuries.

Shooting took place on the first floor at the JC Penney section of the store. (It wasn't at Von Maur.)

Both shooters got arrested.

One was 16 and the other was 18. 16-year-old Makhi Woolridge-Jones will be charged as an adult.

18-year-old Brandon Woolridge-Jones was arrested for a felony.

Police identified the victims as Trequez Swift, 21, and Ja'Keya Veland, 22.

Swift would later die from his injuries.

Why on God's Earth the mall was still open in the middle of a pandemic I don't know.

The malls in San Antonio - North Star Mall (completely closed) and Northwoods (only open on weekends) are yeah.
