Apparently Nancy Lanza went through Adam’s room.

Anyways... here is the quote:
“Beginning of December- Nancy Lanza met a friend at a restaurant she frequented and confided in him about her hardships with Adam. She told him “I don’t know what else I can do for him, I’m running out of answers.” She said Adam had been having more severe temper tantrums whenever she would bring up the future. A couple of days prior she talked to Adam about continuing his education but he had become “unresponsive” to that idea and “shut down.” Whenever she would disrupt his routine he would often stomp and scream. She had also recently gone through his room and found a number of disturbing photographs and drawings but would not confront Adam on that issue. Nancy ended the conversation with “Sorry to be a buzzkill. I’m sure everything will be fine. Really.”

So this kind of proves Nancy wasn’t the neglectful parent some thought she was, I find she gets to much of the blame personally, remember- Adam went and committed this tragedy himself AND killed Nancy.

I remember reading this 3 years ago on Tumblr and I began to believe that I was lost because I could not find it anywhere. Good find.

We can only presume.

Btw, the matter of privacy is a very difficult thing indeed, especially in the relations of parents and children. When I was reading the book written by Cassie Bernall's parents, they criticized parents of Eric and Dylan for not knowing what their sons were into. I also know that parents of other victim (can't remember the name, unfortunately) also stated that Eric's parents were "uncurious' concerning Eric's activity on the Internet, his interests and other things.

Cassie had problems with self-harm and was corresponding with some people about plotting to kill her own parents, but they found out about that searching the things in her room (they found letters) and then sent her to the psychologist/a Christian school/etc and tried to solve the problems. They quite often stated that parents should be concerned about private lives of their children and interfere if things are not going right. It's really difficult to maintain good trusting relations with your kid actually.

The main problem with Nancy's situation is that she couldn't force Adam to go to the specialist or to send him to the mental institution against his will because he wasn't showing threat to people or to himself until the very last moment, as far as I know a person can be commited to the mental institution against his/her will only if s/he poses a threat to himself/herself or to other people, Adam was only throwing tantrums and wasn't willing to communicate with Nancy, but these factors weren't serious enough to send him to the mental institution against his will. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That couldve possibly been one of them but I read on this one articial that "she found a disturbing number of drawings, mostly of gun, and 'normal teenage boy crap' stashed underneath adams nightstand. However, other sketches were gruesome depictions of death and images of mutilated corpses." and for a more detailed description , "According to the book , one drawing she described was of a bloodied woman clutching a rosary as bullets ripped through her spine while another depicted a grassy field filled with the corpses of young children whose faces were so mutilated they were unreconizable, One sketch appeared to be a self-portrait of a younger Adam with blood gushing from a large hole in his forehead and his arms stretched out triumphantly" , i think that the photographs were also including children.
