Press Phone calls- day of

I remember watching Dawn Anna and at the end the family kept getting phone calls from newspapers etc.. wanting to talk to them I assume about the shooting. No one knew Lauren and the others were officially dead until the next day, but they probably had a feeling when they didn't come home and their were no more buses coming They probably hoped that they were in the hospital and no one had let them know yet.



I can see the Harris and Klebold families getting those calls during the day, but why would the victims families get calls?

I assume this was for dramatic effect, but i wonder if something like that happened, or something similar. I know the press hounded people in person. I never heard of any phone calls though.
