Basement Tape Stills...

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum but I've logged in extensively since I joined just to read other discussions about, well, just about anything really! All of your perspectives have really intrigued me and helped me learn a lot more about Columbine theories, E/D, etc.

I just have a general question (and I hope this is in the right topic/hopefully no one has talked about this before). Sure the odds of us seeing the tapes are incredibly low but has anyone else wondered why we never got at least one still image of a tape released? Like a shot of E/D from one of the tapes?

Also, if you were only allowed to see a single image of any of the tapes (if we weren't allowed to watch one in full), what image would you want to see?

I'm not sure if an image would really do much for me research wise but I imagine it would correlate with what part of the BT I would like to see.

So an image of them during the goodbye video, the moment that Eric starts crying by himself and the look on Dylan's face when Eric "finds out" he is Jewish.

I have always found it interesting that the "Dylan, you're Jewish" part has never made it into the transcripts or really any articles if I recall correctly.. just the words of Sue and Judy are what we have to go on.

Absolutely. There’s also nothing in any of the transcripts about Dylan pointing a loaded gun at Eric. It’s in one article I think from the Rocky Mountain news. And Erics behind the camera And Dylan is playing around with the shotgun and it’s loaded and I guess Eric cries out because Dylan is playing around with it so much and points it right at Erics head.

Also shows Dylan's character, this infatuation with the shotgun since he's messing around with it so much. It sucks we'll never know more about it but theorizing about all of this is the best we can do, eerie as it may be.

Even though they both knew they were going to die, it seemed like Eric still had an understanding of reality. From all of the transcripts or other tidbits that are known about the tapes, Eric just seems more in touch with what's going to happen. Dylan just didn't have a care in the world, and yet he masked it so well. Once they realized what their plan was going to be, they couldn't turn back.

basically, unless those recordings suddenly pop out from nowhere, there won't be any screenshot about the BT around on the internet. Back in the early 2000s, imagine what could have been like sneaking out a camera to take pictures from a private screening where only a couple of people were allowed to witness.

You're right. It's not like today where you can discreetly pull out a phone and snap a pic (if that'd even work). Those old bulky cameras, especially with the flash, would be a huge hassle. You'd make a scene.

Besides, back then what was the point in even taking a picture? I know I'm going against what I was initially saying but I've recently read posts about how people thought the tapes were going to be given to the media in 2000 and that they'd be available to everyone. So no one really thought it was necessary to do such a thing. And all we can do now is theorize how everything looked.
