Cho bought 37 yellow rubber ducks on ebay in 2006

I got this on a website called the smoking gun. Maybe somebody will find it interesting.

APRIL 22--In addition to purchasing ammunition clips on eBay, Virginia Tech gunman Cho Seung-Hui last year bought an assortment of rubber duckies via the online auction giant. That's right, the mass murderer paid a total of $21.50 in two February 2006 auctions that netted him three dozen small squeaking toy ducks and one giant rubber duck. Cho, using his eBay handle 'blazers5505,' purchased the items on successive days from an Illinois dealer who appears to specialize in the yellow bathtub items. On the following pages are screen captures of the eBay duck auctions won by Cho. Both pages remain archived on the auction site, though most of the killer's eBay activity--which apparently began in 2004--has, over time, been deleted from the site. It is unclear, of course, why the sullen lunatic needed the novelty items. (2 pages)

Cho had a rubber duck fetish, from what I heard.

But...they make bath time so much fun.

People usually collect things in large amounts to feel emotionally secure. Maybe the rubber ducks remembered him of childhood and he wanted to get in touch with that moment of his personal history...

It must have had some symbolic meaning.

Possibly for target practice?

gifts for his family IMO. Sister or mother probably found them to be cute. Or proof that people were tormenting him and logging into his Ebay and doing it as a practical joke to him.

One thing I never understood was how someone could commit themselves to a murder-suicide pact and not do anything special for themselves. I, for one, would like to believe that Cho spent the night chilling with rubber ducks in a bubble bath.

Now that I think about it, this is probably the most likely scenario. It's similar to how Eric and Dylan had a large dinner at Outback(?) Steakhouse on April 19.

That's actually a pretty interesting theory. Biswanath Halder (another college shooter) had a lot of important files deleted from his computer by someone. Biswanath apparently acted very strange and so did Cho so I wouldn't be surprised if someone messed with him a bit.

Nah, doubt that people would take the effort to torment him by ordering rubber duckies on eBay. That would be hugely impractical. More likely it was a gift to someone in his family. Maybe he just liked them - they do have a certain charm to some people!

For some reason I remembered Cho buying these and it made me think of this.

On a more serious note, I find it a little sad that this was a grown man and he was playing with children's toys to keep himself entertained. It's more than a little odd to me that this was his desired pastime.
