Copies of CDs/DVDs may be purchased directly from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Records Unit. Copies of Columbine records released by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office may be obtained directly from those agencies" It also says: "Date Completed: July, 2013" "Reprocessed: June, 2016" so it's not even old yet. I hope that the Security tapes are still for sale. I want better quality of the 3+Hour long footage.

This guy is just trolling, he's using screencaps from news stories as the "high quality" ones.
I've always wondered how nobody purchased the DVD from Jeffco and put them online, specially all those Columbiners on Tumblr that were calling to JCSO to ask about the basement tapes and stuff… I would have bought them if I were in the US, cause the copies on YouTube are tragic. Watching that CCTV video so blurred and GREEN (wtf?) when we now there's this other better quality version is painful…
They were still selling copies in 2015. But now they are listed as "archived records" which mean you can check them if you go to the archive in Golden. But they also say this "Copies of CDs/DVDs may be purchased directly from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Records Unit." Someone should ask that CVA guy to contact them or something.

I think that the video quality got a massive downgrade when they convert the tapes to DVD. The purchasable copies might have better quality but i doubt that there is a huge difference between the purchasable and the ones that are uploaded to YouTube.

as far as I know you'll need to buy the tapes from jeffco if they still sell them, but as you know with VHS copies, each time you copy it the quality gets worse and worse. And a lot of those examples you're using are straight from news websites who had the original tape at one point, and blurry YouTube uploaders who are ripping them from other people. Even those 'Cleaning Columbine' tapes are not the best ones out there, like they claim. All they did was add some blue filter to the top, the quality is horrendous.
