It has been commonly dismissed and left out in most details but i can confirm that On Multiple occasions Adam Lanza was described as wearing black sunglasses as he was moving through Sandy Hook by witnesses and probably did wear sunglasses "

State Of Connecticut Department Of Public Safety Investigation Report (DPS-302-E) Pg 2/2:

Witness report describing shooter: "The Man appeared white and was wearing a soft rim type hat, Sunglasses (dark), and he was holding a rifle type gun with a long barrel."

State Of Connecticut Department Of Public Safety Investigation Report (DPS-302-E) Pg 1/2:

Child Witness Description: "He was wearing a brown or camo shirt, brown pants, a hat that was like a sombrero but smaller that was also brown, He goes on to state that the man had a bazooka that was black, brown or camo. He was also wearing Sunglasses."

excessive use of Brown description (probably means black) Bazooka (Bushmaster AR15)

Yale Daily News:

"At approximately 9:35 a.m., Lanza — armed with several handguns and long-guns and extra ammunition shot his way into the locked school building. Wearing yellow earplugs, Sunglasses and a hat."

Final Report Of The Sandy Hook Advisory Commision
Presented to Governor Dannel P. Malloy State Of Conneticut March 6, 2015:

"A.L. entered the building, wearing a hat and Sunglasses and appearing calm."

I personally think this was a mixture of style and practicality. Sunglasses, in addition to being really cool to wear at night, also makes the shooting of cowering children incapable of in any way defending themselves look TOTALLY FREAKIN' BADASS. They also protect the eyes from the bullet debris that comes when a bullet hits the school desk being used as cover for a cowering child incapable of yada yada. That may be overthinking it a bit, but Lanza was so obsessed with mass murder that considering such a minute detail wouldn't be out of the question for him.

Yes, with the military style gear and all black appearance he was probably aiming to look like some sort of commando, i could just imagine him looking like an anorexic geared out version of Freddy Kruger with that black boone hat.

Interestingly, a couple of shooters have gone for that "look", Robert Steinhauser, Steven Kazmierczak, and Zane Floyd (who actually was in the military). An old report comparing cases of southeastern amok cases with US mass killers also mentioned this.

Funny enough, Lanza's boone hat and "Eddie Bauer vest" bring to mind more of a psychotic fisherman than a commando, at least in my eyes.

The sunglasses were never confirmed, I think. Several witnesses stated that he was not wearing sunglasses and they were not included in the description of his attire that day or the photographic record of his clothes in the police documents. He may have been wearing them and taken them off before killing himself but I have always wondered if some witnesses were confused because the hat covered his eyes. I know he had at least one pair of sunglasses but I can't remember if they were found in his car. I don't remember seeing them anywhere in his home either so it is possible that they were in the school. If someone has better information about whether they were located, please share.

In terms of wearing them during the shooting, I would think that they might inhibit his vision so I would question the tactical usefulness. His sunglasses were apparently the type that were meant to be worn over regular glasses, which would seem to block out too much light to be worn indoors and possibly affect his peripheral vision. He was definitely going for the military look like other shooters but I don't know if sunglasses would be a part of that.

The pair in the Honda at sandy hook were sports looking sunglasses if you take a look at them and Adam was described as wearing thin frame/ aviators, The glasses in the car probably belonged to Nancy Lanza as it was her car and i believe she is wearing similiar looking glasses in a photo of her.

Many witnesses described Adam as wearing sunglasses both adult and kid and i dont understand why they would randomly assume he was wearing glasses especially on multiple accounts, if he weren't wearing them it must be a extreme case of mandela effect.

Also i believe he wouldn't have a problem with sunglasses in that enviroment as he sat in his room with taped up blacked out windows for his last years and also didnt like colourful and contrast imaging as in his school years he only used blanch white work sheets, also it could shield from bone and debris fragments from the shots aswell as make him look a bit more mysterious with the glasses or he was trying to emulate the terminator lol.
