Isn't it weird that KMFDM released album "Adios" on the 4/20/99. Eric also said that in his journal. Just wanted to point this out.

It's a good album, too bad Eric and Dylan will never listen to it.

One of my favourite songs. Hey, do you know any songs like Adios and Son Of A Gun? That kind of songs are the best

"Today" is the best track on that album.

Apparently it was taken down because of a copyright claim.

Imagine how many videos are still on youtube featuring KMFDM music on columbine tributes. They are going to be busy.

I have a playlist mixed of KMFDM and Doom soundtracks and you can't even tell the difference. Eric and Dylan were probably playing Doom while blasting KMFDM in the background

KMFDM were always an underground band, but I don't think they were looking for the kind of fame brought upon them by Columbine.
My top 10 KMFDM songs (from best to worst): 10: Krank (WTF! 2011) 9: Saft und Kraft (Tohuvabohu 2007) 8: Superpower (Tohuvabohu 2007) 7: Inane (Xtort 1996) 6: New American Century (Hau Ruck 2005) 5: Rules (Xtort 1996) 4: Light (Angst 1993) 3: Money (Money 1992) 2: Today (Adios 1999) 1: Disobedience (Nihil 1995)

Ironically, Columbine is the reason of their fame. They were hardly known before.
Here's a list of my favorite KMFDM songs: -Megalomaniac -Stray Bullet -Son of a gun -Money -Vogue -Anarchy -Free your hate -Wrath -Spit Sperm -WWIII -Inane -Brute

I can imagine that knowing some of your fame came from shooters or shooter wannabes, or fangirl/fanguys of shooters would be very weird.

I didn't mention any song from Symbols, even though it's my favorite album.

I really think they seen this as a sign that it was "meant to be" i mean just the coincidence of its timing and title is pretty remarkable.

I agree. Eric talked about things foreshadowing NBK. This would have played right into it in his mind.

They were known among people who followed music. Even outside of industrial some of the metal influences caught people's attention in those circles. Not really a household name but they even got close to that for a while by making it onto two pretty big movie soundtracks. The old school lineups are KMFDM to a lot of people and those existed and ran their course before Columbine happened.
Maybe Columbine gave them a little bump in longevity in some ways.

Do you guys think Eric and Dylan would have liked Adios? Maybe even KMFDM's later albums after this? I could honestly see one of them liking the self-titled song.

I imagine they would probably like some of their material from the later albums and Adios. They were really big fans, I think they would probably really like Hau Ruck, that was one of my favorite albums by them. It's a bit sad though, I can imagine Eric and Dylan being adults and still being fans and looking forward to their new albums.

The "Adios" album title made an absurd coincidence. I can imagine how Eric's ego was inflated for this (and maybe, just maybe, it made him feel a little melancholic, too...).
