Seems pretty rare to me? Someone have theory about why?

The Mercy Hospital shooting in Chicago that happened in 2018 comes to mind (4 dead) as well as the Bronx hospital shooting (2017). I'm sure there's more than that but those are the recent ones that come to mind. I think hospitals are rare targets since they are usually well guarded although there's definitely other reasons.

Well guarded in the Usa maybe. Worst place to evacuate. Easy target. Building even bigger then school.
All the worst serial killer was working in hospital so... Maybe maybe crazy medical staff prefers to kill one by one. Haha

They convey a sense of high security and are somewhat hard to navigate because they are so big.

An IV stand was used to attack people in the Săpoca Hospital massacre in Romania in 2019. It must be one of the most bizarre weapons ever used that got a higher kill count that most shootings.

The Ostrava hospital shooting is really interesting. The shooter used a police training pistol that once had its internals exposed but was later re-activated.
