School shooting in Izhevsk, Russia

According to the latest data, six people were killed and 20 were injured and injured as a result of shooting at school No. 88 in Izhevsk. The shooter committed suicide, police said.

"Currently, the police found the body of the man who opened fire. According to reports, he committed suicide," the press service of the department said.

Messages about the shooting at the school appeared on Monday morning on Russian Telegram channels.

According to Russian media, the shooting started during the lesson - an unknown man in a black suit burst into the classroom and opened fire.

Arriving at the scene, the head of Udmurtia, Alexander Brechalov, said that a security guard was killed as a result of the shooting, there were victims among children.

"In Udmurtia, today there is a tragedy in Izhevsk at school 88. While an unidentified person entered the school, killed a guard, this is already known. There are victims among children and wounded," Brechalov said in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the evacuation of the educational institution has now been completed.

"The entire perimeter has been cordoned off, the FSB, the Russian Guard, and investigating authorities are working at the facility," he said.

State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein wrote on his telegram channel that the man who fired at a school in Izhevsk was armed with two traumatic pistols converted to live ammunition.

"The death toll in the attack on a school in Izhevsk has increased to 9 people. Among them are five children aged 8 to 15 years. According to the Interior Ministry, 20 people were injured."

He really was a neo-fascist, but he was also obsessed with Columbine, which is probably why he chose a school.

Unfortunately because Vladimir Putin keeps saying that Ukraine is full.of Nazis, he will blame Ukraine for influencing this attack.

The note says that Kazantsev has been preparing for the massacre for more than a year. He also described in detail the process of illegal purchase of pistols. It is known that he carefully chose the place: among the objects for committing the crime, he singled out kindergartens, schools, military registration and enlistment offices.

The text also states that Kazantsev is apolitical and non-religious. He allegedly felt only hatred for people.

The backwards swastika on his t-shirt is interesting. The only outfit I have ever seen that uses it that way would be the orgs headed / influenced by James Mason (aka Siege). The school number being 88 is also if nothing more a bizarre coincidence considering that numbers significance to the current generation of those who idolize natsoc.

I know initial reports are typically inaccurate however I'd heard several Russian news sources saying he suffered from mental illness and had modified the firearms from non-lethal to accept live rounds. Not that I'm saying the Russians (media) would massage the info but the argument could be made they would want to downplay the ease in which conversion of legal weapon to illegal weapon is.

Regarding the tribute to Columbine / Eric / Dylan, every time one of these events happens with a connection to 1999 I can't help but think how moot the position of concealing the basement tapes in an effort to not encourage others is.

Artyom Kazantsev escaped criminal responsibility 14 years ago

An Izhevsk citizen who suffered at the hands of Artem Kazantsev said that he was not prosecuted for attacking 2 people 14 years ago.

Artem Kazantsev, who killed 17 people and injured 23 at his former school, attacked two Izhevsk citizens with a knife 14 years ago. The survivor said that Kazantsev stabbed him in the back, and then run away. Before that, as it turned out, he also attacked a woman with a knife. However, he was not prosecuted because he was considered mentally ill.

“I'm a graduate of this school. An event occured in 2008, and Artyom Kazantsev took a direct part in it. Around 3:00 p.m. in December, when I was getting back home, he attacked me, stabbed me in the back, and then run away. The reason of why he attacked is still unknown to me. Later it turned out that a few minutes before attacking me, he also stabbed an elderly woman. During the trial he got an acquittal, he was not sent for compulsory treatment as he was receiving outpatient treatment [by a psychiatrist], which was considered enough at the time.

So he escaped criminal liability - according to our legislation, mentally ill people are exempted from it. I believe that the tragedy could have been prevented 14 years ago if appropriate measures had been taken,” - said the former graduate of school No. 88.

The Russian system must be really lacking, I don’t really have any experience of it, but in my country he absolutely would have been detained and prosecuted, mental illness or not. Another case of red flags being missed sadly.

Haven't known that Artyom even served in the army a bit, but was diagnosed with schizophrenia while serving and almost immediately excluded. 
He graduated from the 9th grade and enrolled into college to study programming. The guns were illegally bought on his disability pension.

On the 19th of January, 2019, his mother Alla registered as an individual entrepreneur specialized in sale of sporting goods and animal feed and even got a big support from the state - 110 000 rubles, but eventually terminated the company in 2020. Before the tragedy she worked as a director in the shop specialized in sale of fishing accessories.
