I think serial killers like David Berkowitz would've become mass shooters if they were born a few decades later, I think mass shootings are just the new generation's favourite method of killing multiple people. Serial killing has become extremely difficult in today's world with the advancement of technology, DNA testing and CCTV catch most would be serial killers before they get the chance to rack up many kills. Shootings are just more practical and harder to prevent.
