i get he was a psychopath who killed cats with bb guns then killed kids with .223 but i can't believe he just did what he did cause he had a girlfriend and a job. i get the failure from graduating but he could've just got a GED

He didn't have a girlfriend, he broke up with his girlfriend and was reportedly very harassing.

Also, his job was to make hamburgers and he didn't like it. Fun fact, once, the grandmother of one of Ramos's friends went to the restaurant where he worked and took a photo of him, sent it to his friend and said something like "You should continue studying if you don't want to end up like this."
