David Kozák had shown propensity to violence since his childhood. One of the key moments which shows Kozáks increasing aggressivity happened during his studies on Malostranské gymnasium (high school). During his stay at summer camp he shot an air rifle at direction of tent where his sister slept. Kozák later related this incident to his classmates. “Friends had challenged David to retell the story. He told it like funny a anecdote, I however did not find that funny” said his teacher according to MF DNES and with this information she had confronted Davids father. “I had conversation with Davids father, who had told me to take it easy, that they have guns at home and that David has been isnstructed and knows how to handle firearms.” Added the professor.

This interest in violence and brutality found its way in Kozáks taste when it came to entertainment. Obsessed mainly by Japanese anime, which oftentimes contained extreme violence.

Kozák himself admits that he is under pressure (does not sleep, does not eat enough, drinks only green tea)” States report put together by investigators.
Parents who were cause of the pressure on his academical performance had become target of his wrath. Kozák openly admitted, that he though about how to physically hurt them. “I had put thoughts about suicide to side, its more like eventuality. For instance during arguments with parents, I want to somehow punish them before I carry on with suicide, I want to do something to them before that” Wrote Kozák in October of 2022.
Plans to kill his parents were amended by addition of intention to destroy their family house in Hostouň. Kozák wanted to blow up the house by use of IED. He planned everything with care and precision and only by mere chance he did not succeed according to investigators.
