Based. I also think the decision to keep the school mostly like it was is good, it cost insane amounts of money to demolish the Sandy Hook buildings and others were shootings happened. It feels like a desperate attempt to just forget about it, without acknowledging the causes behind shootings.

this. destroying a building that would unfortunately be the canvas of someone's massacre doesn't actually do anything other than wasting money and resources. keeping it the way it was is a good idea, but it would probably be a good idea to put some extra security measures at least for a while.

Usually some places opt to not destroy buildings because that's what the perpetrators usually want. When it does happen though I'd argue it's a good use of money to get an actually nice campus or a fancy memorial because public school is a dump. I agree on the security measures, something simple as a metal detector or a school resource officer could scare people out of committing mass shootings. The security measures is just short term stuff, society is just fucked. At least the money isn't being wasted on the military industrial complex.
