I don't know if there's a already a thread on this, so my apologies in advance...
So, what are the responses of the people linked directly to the Columbine? I mean victims, witnesses, families, friends etc.
What prompted me to start this thread is what Colorado Attorney General twitted - "Shooter's mom doesn't get it. Decision to talk now doesn't prevent [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Instead could have very negative consequences. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]". 6 likes so far - one them is Frank DeAngelis Rolling Eyes
Btw, has Brooks responded in any way? Or is he done with the whole thing?

Just noticed an answer to what the Attorney wrote:
Laurie Works ‏@laurieworks  20h @COAttnyGeneral please provide explanation for this tweet. As a shooting SURVIVOR I feel it was out of line; would like to hear background.

Edit: never mind, I thought she meant she was a survivor of Columbine

Atty General isn't likely to be qualified to make that comment.

I'd lean heavily to the side that SK's emergence recently WILL prevent other shootings. SK has > 14 years of professional research on her side & a lifetime of personal if not empirical data.

It only takes one parent to have heard a thought from SK on how to recognize childhood suicide or murder/suicide signs & "how to" deal with them.. to potentially ward off a potential school shooting.

I looked at Brooks' Reddit account to see if he perhaps responded to a post there about the book/interviews only to see that he hasn't posted anything for eight months and prior to that was active at least a few times a month. I wonder if he abandoned it.

Well, the clues we have are:
  • It's a guy.
  • He was seventeen at the time of the shooting.
  • Dylan shot him from behind in the shoulder and leg.

Wounded males who were 17 were:

Brian Anderson
Mark Taylor
Daniel Steepleton
Mark Kintgen
Pat Ireland
Rich Castaldo

Think Brian was just wounded by glass.
Pat hit in the head.
Rich hit in back and chest.
Daniel Steepleton shot in the knee (by Dylan - but reports that Dylan looked him in the eye as he did it - the guy posting said he was shot from behind).
Mark Kintgen took on to the head and shoulder.
Mark Taylor. Shot in the leg, chest and back.

Isn't Mark Taylor supposedly being held against his will in a mental hospital?

I guessed Mark Taylor too, but saw the confinement in 2013 and reconsidered. I didn't see any one person who matched the injury description exactly.

The comments from that site..... Wow.  The dumbing down of Humanity......

Sometimes I can agree with a lot of what Eric wrote in regards to how  so many people don't take the time to think for themselves..... No self awareness..... Etc.

Unfortunately,that's what the majority of comments ever made about Columbine seem to have been like.That same kind of mentality.

One of the comments on the Denver post article
ColoradoLove -> oldcap • 12 days ago
oldcap, she's been given a life sentence because of the actions of her son. Until the day she dies, she will feel every bit of pain in knowing what he did that will never get any easier. That said, fault doesn't fall entirely on her. JeffCo Sheriff was warned of the attack and did not act. I'd be VERY surprised if there's any mention of this anywhere because it was only 1 report, but a good friend/fellow boy scout member of mine worked with Eric and Dylan at Blackjack Pizza and had told him of their plans, including the explosive they set off near further S. on Pierce. He gave them detailed info of their plans and they did nothing. While I'll never know because I didn't ask questions beyond what he told me and has since passed away, I'll never forget the look on his face when he told me it went down exactly as he reported to JeffCo sheriff. Then because of how detailed info he gave, was temporarily arrested as the 3rd shooter within hours of the first shot ringing out. It could've been prevented if they listened, no matter how many red flags were missed or ignored

martin_incol -> ColoradoLove • 6 days ago
Thank you-her son also wrote a essay in school that today would have him in counseling immediately-but we know now what we did not know then about true Red Flags. The essay teacher also did not act, and why would she have?

ColoradoLove -> martin_incol • 6 days ago
martin_incol, you're absolutely right. Columbine became the center for such realizations and recognition of true red flags. I'm sure there's countless things the parents still question about themselves, thinking "if I had only...", but ultimately too many actions were either not seen or known by the ones who needed to see/know, and common-place for teens at the time (even the drastic changes in Eric, going from being known as "preppy" and friends with the "popular kids and jocks", to what he changed into rather rapidly). My friend who worked with them told me on many occasions how at work they'd do stupid things like setting off firecrackers inside the store, drink at work on roof with the manager, and set lines of lighter fluid/gasoline on fire inside and out of the store (at least once, but maybe twice) even setting the dumpster on fire, requiring firefighter response. While individually those acts may seem like a common-place rebellious teen (of the era), the acts people saw were only the surface and required a little digging. They also used to go target shooting in my area (I kinda shuddered at the thought I used to go target shooting in exact same place they did when I learned of it), but was also a common thing at the time. The same friend I mentioned and myself would simply inform the immediate neighbors as a courtesy, but especially skeet shooting was a frequent occurrence by many in the area and not given a 2nd thought even without the courtesy

Do you think this is real?

Maybe real I am not sure. Is he referencing Chris Morris above as now being passed away & the one who was arrested shortly after the shooting ? It sounds like it to me, however, I have found no reference to Chris Morris begin deceased. Maybe this was a reference to Joe Stair but Joe did not work at Blackjack Pizza with them nor did he get arrested etc.
Sounded real to me, at least more knowledgable than run of the mill trolls... Was Chris Morris the only one of their acquaintances who got arrested?

Review from a lurker- I liked the book. It took me a bit more than 1 day to finish. The one thing I was disappointed about I guess was her very very brief explanation of his last few days. I think her description of his last week or so was like a page of writing. I know at the time she did not know that was going to be the last week of his life but she was writing it knowing that... I guess I just thought there would be more. Although it sounds like he did not spend much time at home/around them at that point in time.

I did learn a fair amount from the book that I personally had not known. I grew a fondness for Sue and all that she has been through.

Mark Taylor was shot in the arm and leg.

Mark Taylor also wrote a book (55 pages) in 2006:
