| How can they, knowing that they stood outside for hours while teenage kids were being shot like dogs, while Dave Sanders was bleeding to death, while other kids were huddled in fear, not knowing if their next breath would be their last?
Some of us here like to bash Cullen, but we should bash the cops even more. At least Cullen's never killed anyone*. But the police stood by and let Sanders die.
How they can live with themselves, I'll never know.
*As far as we know... _________________ Why does anyone do anything?

| Because cops in general care only about their own ass, protect and serve means protect themselves and serve their own interest | |

| They did nothing wrong. It was protocol at the time. Hindsight is always 20/20. If you want to get technical, they did the right thing because there was actually bombs in the building.
Witnesses and many people were relaying bad information to them as well. Multiple gunmen (at least 3 or 4), people on the roof, this, that. etc...
This made their job much more difficult and the school itself was pretty unique in the way it's set up. | |

This made their job much more difficult and the school itself was pretty unique in the way it's set up. I still say they acted shitty. The same cops who fucked up Eric's arrest warrant tried to screw Brooks Brown after his family told reporters that they fucked up the warrant. (Yes, the Browns are attention whores, but still.) _________________ Why does anyone do anything?

| Because to them, they were just following "protocol" at the time. Thats how they think, and get sleep at night. At the time it was protocol to secure the perimeter, not rush right in as it is in today's age. | |

| On one hand I feel that no amount of training can prepare them for situations such as this, not the "local" bobbies anyway. Poor communication stuttering about like headless chickens. Other hand, SWAT teams with armor bullet proof vests have no excuse. It took 2 and a half hours from the last shot fired until Pekka arrived at the hospital and 15 hours until the last of the parents were informed that their kids were dead. (from police report). They should be ashamed. 4 hours after the gunshot for the police to enter the house of James Gamble. (from here) What I don't understand is the parents. If there was a shooting at our school and I didn't know for certain that they were safe the police would have to shoot me to stop me from trying to get in | |

Tom Klebold wanted to go to the school, but the cops wouldn't let him. He didn't make them shoot him, though. _________________ Why does anyone do anything?

| James Gambles parents were right outside the house, police wouldn't even let them try and make contact with their son.
One of Pekka's parents was outside the school, police had to restrain them... There was no way on this earth he would have hurt either of his parents. The outcome would have remained the same, he knew he had to die.
Parents face a life time of living in Hell anyway, if they're prepared to go in it should be their choice not the police and who knows how many lives might be saved.
What if.... eh? :/ | |

| Well, most of the officers were simply awaiting orders. | |
