Were the girls under table 2 specifically targeted?

Perhaps it was simply due to how many students were hiding under it (six in total) but I'm sure table 2 had to have been one of the most fired at tables in the library. IIRC Dylan fired at it, reloaded and continued firing (killing Townsend) and then shortly afterwards Eric fired at it killing Flemming.

So do you think it was merely random firing or maybe something more personal?

Dylan was at the front of the Library shooting out a display case and as he headed back into the room is when he came across table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. He shot under table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and a boy under there was injured and then he went to table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and started shooting. Dylan killed Lauren and then he and Eric met up over by table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] where one of them (most likely Eric) looked under the table and called the girls "pathetic" but didn't shoot them.

Then they stop over by table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and at that point in time (which can be heard on the 911 call) one of the girls that was over by table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] started screaming "oh my God, help me". This is when Dylan starts yelling at her from over by table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] asking her if she believes in God. This conversation could be what lures them back over to table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Before heading back to table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], they stop and kill John Tomlin under table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

After that they go back over to table [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which was packed with all those girls and they just start shooting at them. Kelly Fleming wasn't even under the table, she was kind of on the side of it and I believe she was shot right in the back.

Anyway, no, I don't think it was personal. I don't think many of these kids in the Library knew who Dylan and Eric even were. There was more kids under that table to shoot at. That is why there was more shooting going on at that table than at a table that may have had 2 or 3 kids under it.

There really was no reason for why they shot at some and not others. The bombs failed and they were improvising. They killed some and some they didn't. They basically said they were going to do that on the basement tapes. That they wanted to decide who lived and died. And they wanted witnesses left behind. They wanted people to have flashbacks and be haunted by it.
