| Just a small thought, but I wonder how much fussing/teasing Dylan had to endure over his earring? From everything we know of Sue Klebold, one can assume she hated it! Also did anyone mention people at school picking on him because of it? |

| I don't recall seeing any evidence that he was picked on specifically for that. But since most of the things that say he was picked on do not specify what he was picked on for (besides the trenchcoat) they could have chosen the earring.
But then again the 90s were very different and you can see pics of grungy looking guys wearing earrings like that all over. So perhaps it was more commonplace _________________ Hold me now I need to feel complete Like I matter to the one I need

| Having your ear pierced was pretty cool when i was growing up, so i doubt he was picked on for his earring. | |

| My brother had both his ears pierced back in the 90's. My mom did laugh when she bought him and me earrings for Christmas but got over it. _________________ "And you know, you know, you know, this can be beautiful, you say you're numb inside, but I can't agree. Also did anyone mention people at school picking on him because of it? Sue was open-minded in regards to the individual look Dylan established for himself so I don't think she'd have a problem with his earring the same way she mentioned in the Diane Sawyer interview that she saw nothing wrong with him wearing a trench coat. She was an art student and dabbled in expressing a look for herself as a teen too. | |

| Guys wearing earrings were somewhat popular in my high schools days as well. Kids had just started getting different facial piercing's back then. Eyebrows, nose, multiple ear, and cartilage piercing's, etc. Sue had talked about always wanting Dylan to cut his hair. I just made the stretch to her not liking the earring very much. |

| I heard a theory how Dylan wore jewelry to provoke a reaction from people. He wore his serial killer shirt often, and I think someone mentioned how he had a bad hygiene. | |

Yes several people stated that Dylan would often wear the same clothing, and didn't bathe as often as he needed to. But the only thing I have heard about him wearing jewelry wise for attention was the red hammer/sickle star pin on his left boot. |

I don't think he was a communist, but considering his mother is Jewish, it would have been distasteful for him to wear swastikas, so I guess he chose the Hammer and sickle just to look different, not to express his political beliefs. | |

That is possible. Maybe he just liked it, and it really didn't have meaning to him, other then he thought it was cool looking. |

| He wore the silver ring with the black stone a lot too from what I understand. I hope his parents got it back.
Lack of hygiene is a sign of depression. My ex who I was with for a long time started withdrawing, spending about 17 hours a day on the computer playing games and bathing only once a week. We broke up after a while because I couldn't help him and I was young. I'm not sure if he was diagnosed with any kind of depression.
Also it could have been part of Dylan's rebellion. A big EFF you, I don't have to bathe because YOU said I have to. Though I know it's been mentioned I'm not sure how Eric felt about that. He's very neat and tidy, also his rant about people who don't believe in personal hygiene.... or maybe hormones and being a teenager he just had greasy hair. You should have seen mine in High school, long before dry shampoo.. and I tried everything! Anyhoo, EARRING! I think it's unique, I can't interpret what it meant to him though.

| His earring was a triple cross stud. The triple cross was something that he doodled all the time in his journal, and on various other things. |

| It looks like the cross of St.Stephen. _________________ Falling out of airplanes and hiding out in holes Waiting for the sunset to come, people going home Jump out from behind them and shoot them in the head Now everybody dancing, the dance of the dead The dance of the dead, the dance of the dead

There has been a lot of speculation on his cross. He had changed it at one point in time. He had drawn it with only two cross sections, then later added a third longer line across the center. In my opinion it looks like the Cross of Salem. |

| Besides the triple cross, he also drew a kolovrat type thing in his journal. I wonder if he ever made anything related to that. _________________ Falling out of airplanes and hiding out in holes Waiting for the sunset to come, people going home Jump out from behind them and shoot them in the head Now everybody dancing, the dance of the dead The dance of the dead, the dance of the dead

I'm not sure. I don't think I have ever came across anything about it. |
