| Man, if someone were to make a movie and/or TV series based on Columbine they'd either have to do a shit ton of condensing or hire a lot of actors. _________________ "My guns are the only things that haven't stabbed me in the back." -Kip Kinkel

I honestly don't think a miniseries is that far off. All the big 90s crimes/scandals are getting movies or TV miniseries--Unabomber, Waco, Tonya Harding, OJ. If they do it I hope they hilariously reference I'm Not Ashamed by casting a giggly Asian guy as Nick Baumgart. I'd be watching for the late 90s styles coming back, since INA bothered to include that ridiculous Goth chick. I wonder if Thomas F. Wilson is too old to play Rocky Hoffschneider. Yeah, probably so. Maybe Derek Mears? :-) (go look him up) Where's Timothy McVeigh? Oliver Stone should have had a field day of conspiracy theory silliness with McVeigh's mysterious life leading up to the OKC bombing.

| Some parents of victims, most notably Tom Mauser and Ann Kechter I'd say. This is an interesting thread, one could make a glossary for Columbine. | |

| You could also add Chad Laughlin (954) who ran Dylan's fantasy baseball league (and apparently, he also ran a fantasy football league that Dylan and/or Eric were involved in) and Joshua Lallement (948), whose number Dylan had because they used to play computer games over modem together.
It's probably questionable how "notable" these people are but they could be considered acquaintances rather than friends.

I actually would LOVE a Columbine mini series, with every angle being considered. So long as they stuck as true to life and the proven facts as possible. |

I actually would LOVE a Columbine mini series, with every angle being considered. So long as they stuck as true to life and the proven facts as poss I'd like a mini series as well but since this was a real life tragedy, it's a really touchy issue and could invite some backlash as there's a lot of survivors and relatives of people involved who are still alive. One could easily make a drama about E&D, their issues, frustration with the world and preparations leading up to the attack but the supporting cast would have to be curtailed to only the most necessary characters and preferably their names should be omitted. There's no doubt in my mind that it would re-tramautise and piss off a lot of people but it does have artistic potential. What angles would you be interested in exploring?

It is Columbine so that would indeed guarantee a certain amount of hate and backlash. Anyone who would ever take on such a subject would have to know this, and be prepared for it. Also when I say different angles, I mainly mean every side of the story that has actual proven merit in the grand scoop of what happened. I would love to hear each side of the highly debatable issue of Eric being/not being a psychopath with each side presenting evidence to support their findings. I would like to have experts talk about Dylan as something OTHER then just a sad, lonely, depressed follower. As I feel that has been played out, and I honestly feel that he was so much more then just a submissive follower. I would like for any new evidence such as the video of E&D planting the bombs in the cafeteria to be discussed at length. I truly wish that all the remaining evidence would just be released! The basement tapes, the full 911 call, the Harris depositions etc. I know I'm asking for WAY to much! Although I know I am not alone in wanting this info. |

As some effected consider it ripping open old wounds. |

| You can’t please everyone.
I’d love to see a mini series too.
There’s another discussion we are having about the film Dawn Anna and it’s not until the end that you know she’s Lauren’s mom and she dies in Columbine.
I wonder if you could do that with Eric? Show a story of a military family, kid has health issues etc.. has anger issues and then one morning the parents come home and smell gas and the movie is actually about the Harris’s. I wonder if people would be pissed? _________________ "And you know, you know, you know, this can be beautiful, you say you're numb inside, but I can't agree. I actually would LOVE a Columbine mini series, with every angle being considered. So long as they stuck as true to life and the proven facts as possible. Whenever you're adapting something into a movie or series, be it a book, a game, or a real life event, there's going to be some differences between the two. If and when we do get a miniseries focused on Columbine there's going to be some inaccuracies, some of them may even be glaring to those who have researched the case extensively like us. _________________ "My guns are the only things that haven't stabbed me in the back." -Kip Kinkel

Yeah I blew it there. Put her under the INJURED/LIBRARY header. I left out Brandon Larsen too. Pretty stupid of me. I'm just now finding out he was the "his jaw will be missing" kid from the Basement Tapes. Nicole Markham is a notable missing person.
