I would mention Jon Venables and Robert Thompson for their murder of toddler James Bulger, but that was later disproven that it was unlikely either one of them actually watched any of the films. One of them didn't even own a vhs player..

I heard one of Jeff Dahmer's favorite movies was Exorcist 3. In that movie Brad Dourif (the voice of Chucky) says "this is not child's play" then it blends into a scene of a ginger haired child (it was a nod to the Child's Play movies)
