Eric Harris...short guy of the group

I wonder how he felt to be around really tall guys
Chris Morris was 6'4?
Brooks Brown was 6'5
Dylan Klebold was 6'3
Nate Dykeman was 6'2
Zach Heckler was 6'2-6'3
Eric 5'8

He really does 'stick out'. Wonder how he felt being the shrimp of the group

Eric Veik was 5'7 and Mike V was about 5'7ish as well, but they weren't really part of their group

I'm sure Eric's height bothered him especially when he had friends that were so much taller than him like Dylan. I can't really see Dylan liking basketball because it was probably to jock like but I think he would have been really good at it.

My height bothers me and I'm much- much shorter than Eric.

Well, you're a girl, and the average height is 5'4, which Is perfectly normal

I don't see why many girls want to be taller than 5'6. Now a days there are many guys who are shorter than Eric Harris

And looking at the Hitmen for Hire video, when they are walking together. Eric just looks like a complete shrimp next to Dylan. I can't imagine Brooks being scared of Eric when he was like 3 inches taller than Dylan, and Dylan towers over Eric

I've always thought that most girls preferred being tall because it could make them feel and look like a supermodel or Victoria's Secret model. Those girls are gorgeous!

That part of the video always makes me laugh. Eric looks soooo tiny and is drowning in his trench coat. He reminds me of a little boy playing dress up. Even though this is unrelated he also reminds me of Sid from Toy Story.

I'm so glad!!  It was on the other day and it immediately reminded me of him especially how Sid is always playing with explosives.

That one bit in Hitmen for Hire where they are walking side by side on the pavement is hilarious.  If I had art directed that for them, I would've told them to switch places: Dylan on the lower portion of the walk and Eric on the higher side of the pavement.  Give Eric a little boost in looking a tad intimidating.  Eric looks like a tiny penguin waddling in his trenchcoat with his hands swallowed up by the coat sleeves. lol

I do think his height bothered him just a bit, especially because he was surrounded by much taller dudes. I'm around 5'9"-ish, so that's around his height.. My Dutch self thinks that's pretty short for a guy, but I think it's a really normal height in the rest of the world? Nothing to get worked up about, at least.

I can actually imagine him being scared of Eric. Not everything fear-inspired comes from height. It's also how someone carries themselves, the look in their eyes, the tone of their voice, etc.. Something about Eric must've been terrifying enough? (Actually, I'm having trouble picturing it. I keep flashing back to Hitmen For Hire where even the coat is too big on him.  )

I love how Eric writes that he is "5'11" on his diversion file.  I'm 5'11 1/2.  As a woman, I would just relish standing him down and saying 5'11, aye?  Suuurright, dude.   I do think Eric was more like 5'7 or 5'8 to be honest.

Eric has a little Hitler complex. ;)And you're right, he compensates with other ways of intimidating.  The one glaring look he abruptly flashes the video camera in "Eric at CHS" is unsettling.  Also, he can be pretty bossy and aserbic.  His "Dylan shut up!" is astoundingly cutting. I have to wonder how often this type of dynamic happened between them.  If you really study that clip carefully, listening and watching everyone, you can see how Dylan is manipulated and directed by Eric and you can tell Dylan is getting a bit annoyed at all the art directing or telling him to stand here, do this, don't do that.  There's also a moment in the Rampart Range video where Eric is joyfully going over the bullet handy work in the tree "good tree; bad" with Dylan and someone is calling him to come over. He has this nasty, short, impatient tone to his voice when he tells for them to wait a minute.  You can definitely see the need to control and dominate regardless of his physical presence by lack of height.

Agreed! E/D should have set it up that way. And you are so right about Eric looking like  a penguin!

I'm in the minority here but I think Eric looked great in his trench coat.I like the whole somewhat Gothic look he and Dylan had going on.I feel it looks good on guys and girls.

^ Haha, I wonder that too. Maybe it's a regional thing, but guys around here (where I live) aren't that tall.

It sounds to me like he was possibly going through a late spurt. If his dad is tall and his brother is tall, then he probably would have been tall as well though there are people who are shorter than their brothers and father.
