What would be the weirdest motive for a a Mass Shooting?

I believe it must be Martin Bryant, who went on the rampage  because his dad couldn't buy Seascape when he was alive.

Randy is definitely the weirdest.

There are probably crazier mass shooters out there, but until I learn about them I gotta go with Randy Stair.

Not a mass shooting but a man killed eight people and wounded at least 23 others in Watampone, Dutch East Indies in 1922 at a wedding after the other guests laughed at him because he had farted.

This isn't a mass shooter but I think I found the weirdest motive for a serial killer. Herbert Mullin was an American serial killer who killed 13 people during the early 1970s in California. He claimed he killed people because an earthquake was going to come soon, and he thought the only way to stop it was by human sacrifice. He was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia which manifested since his early senior year in high school. He also took LSD and Marijuana which probably helped cause his diagnosis. Coincidentally, his birthday, April 18th, was the same date as the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake, which Mullin found significant. He was sentenced to life imprisonment and has been denied parole 10 times. He even (as mentioned in another thread) had contact with Edmund Kemper while in prison, another notorious serial killer.

Jason Dalton claimed that the Uber app he used controlled his mind and body and made him commit the murders, but he could have been lying to appear insane.

Richard Komakech killed 26 people at a wedding in Uganda because a woman refused to dance with him.

I read an article (can't find it now) where his fellow prisoners said he continues to display psychotic behavior in prison.

One guy named Andrew Aman almost did a mass stabbing at an elementary school because it was painted like the American flag. He didn’t like the school’s “obnoxious pride in America”. Thankfully his friend was there and told him not to do it (and he didn’t). There’s been very few stabbing sprees in American schools. But still, any violent or “crazy” person can kill people with whatever they want.

Raymond Childs III, who killed 6 of his family members in Indiana recently, killed them because his father scolded him for sneaking out of the house at night.

Ricardo alberto barreda, in Argentina 1992, murdered his wife, his two daughters and his mother-in-law with the shotgun that she had given him long ago. I don't think this was the main motive, but the attack was detonated as his wife told him an insult that I have no idea how to translate it into English, but it was something like saying ... "Being a pussy" since He was doing cleaning work in the house, in his statement I say that this insult greatly annoyed him since they had told him before, and that is why he decided to murder his entire family

Thomas Hamilton or 'the British Adam Lanza'. Shot up a school because no one would allow him to create a 'boys club' even though he had been blacklisted from doing so on the account of him being an accused pedophile. He even complained to Queen Elizabeth II about it.

This wasn’t the only motive, but Robert Butler Jr shot and killed his school’s vice principal and shot two others because he was suspended for driving his car on the school’s football field. In a suicide note, he wrote that the school “ruined his life” so of course that wasn’t the only incident that angered him, I just find it crazy how that was the final straw for him.

A recent mass shooter, Gregory Ulrich, targeted a health clinic because he was mad the doctors didn't give him enough pain medication. Clearly he's an addict, but it's still crazy how something like that can cause someone to kill.

Okay, this has nothing to do with the topic but I looked up David Gray to read about his crimes. As stated, Gray ostensibly committed these crimes over a dispute about a dog walking on his property. I went to Google Maps to see the site of the crimes (I do that sometimes) and saw a man walking his dogs nearby

Andrew Wurst, who thought that nobody was real, that he was an alien, his parents weren't his parents, he was sent back in time, that everyone was trying to ruin his life, and that we're all laying in hospital beds being watched over by mad scientists.

Didn't he commit the attack because he thought that Kyoto Animation plagiarized an anime scene that he entered into their competition? Apparently it was a really mundane scene like a character eating at a restaurant which makes it even more weird to commit a mass murder over a scene like that.

Not sure if war criminals counts, but Hans Stark, an guard at the Auschwitz concentration camp, shot and killed a woman and her two sons because one of them stole an rabbit. After killing them, he made an speech about the Goethe's humanism to some prisoners. I'm also not sure if this counts since Stark had committed a number of atrocities in the camp and I couldn't locate the rabbit incident online, so it makes me wonder that the rabbit incident was a "minor" one, but it is very unusual for me.

Lim Do-bin's (2014 South Korea shooting spree) motive was hazing in the South Korean military. This isn't too weird of a motive, but one of the released details was: "Lim was reportedly ridiculed by others in his unit who drew caricatures of him as SpongeBob."

Hwang Bom-nae (2002 Neung Dong Church Elementary School stabbing) "told police he heard the voice of Kim Il-Sung [North Korean founder] that commanded him to kill many people or he would be killed."
