The official VT shooting report states as follows from page 31 - 32:

- Cho at 9 months old developed whooping cough, then pneumonia and was hospitalised.

- Doctors reported that Cho had a hole in his heart (some records said a heart murmur)

- Two years later, doctors conducted cardiac tests to examine the inside of his heart. They either performed an echo cardiograph or a cardiac catherization.

- The report then outright says that this caused the 3-year-old emotional trauma.

- From that point on, Cho did not like to be touched. He cried a lot and was constantly sick.

Would this lead on to his emotional coldness and isolation?

It no doubt played a part into becoming who he was, but I think there was definitely some underlying issues in him. Medical trauma is only part of the picture here.
