Re-discovered this one while looking for examples of anti-white mass shooters. Couldn't fathom a guess as to why this shooting was mostly passed over by the media.

The media doesn't report on shootings that have less than 5 kills, plus the guy was mentally ill so it goes against their narrative that there isn't a mental health crisis in America.

The media doesn't report on shootings that have less than 5 kills, plus the guy was mentally ill so it goes against their narrative that there isn't a mental health crisis in America.
An unexpected take.
I didn't want to state the obvious answer in the OP, but I do tentatively agree that the low kill count was a factor in the lack of media attention. I don't believe that anyone's making the claim that America lacks a mental health problem, though. I think that's something generally accepted among the population.

I don't know but what I've seen from the media (particularly mainstream media like Fox News or CNN), they usually ignore the shooter's mental health issues and focus on things like gun control or music/video games etc. And when they do focus on mental health, they do it in a way that creates a stigma and usually blame "them mass shooter pills!" or some other ridiculous like that.
