Wow, that is too true. I shudder to think of what Eric looked like during NBK.

Dylan probably looked a lot like this at points during NBK. That face may have been the last thing some of the victims saw. That is exactly what i thought too gustopoet! Especially when he is smiling and laughing. Dylan is one sick dude ,when i think about the victims he killed and how they must have felt to be shot by a " laughing clown ." Dylan giggled like a little school girl as he was murdering little school girls and boys.

True. They certainly do. There are parts of the Rampart Range vid that are chilling, as well. The one part when Eric says "Imagine that in someone's fucking brain." And then near the end when Dylan is breaking down the shotgun and he is pointing it at Phil Duran while he's getting ready to load. Duran is like "Let me get outta the way!" and Dylan is grinning like a stone cold killer. And THEN Dylan points the barrels of the shotgun at his own stomach while he is trying to shove in the shells.
He apparently did the same thing in one of the basement tapes, when he is pointing the shotgun at Eric while struggling to get it loaded.
A little insight into Dylan's homicidal/suicidal impulses, coupled with his awkwardness and less than stellar motor skills. Yeah , Eric's comment about the trees gun damage was chilling. What a sick comment to say about brains !

I find this smile quite chilling. If i happened to be completely unaware of NBK , i would find this smile quite endearing and timid ,with a touch of innocence and shyness. I am fully aware of the crimes Dylan committed. Why do i find this smile chilling ? ? ? ? ?Many innocent children saw this smile of Dylan's AS HE WAS KILLING THEM AND ATTEMPTING TO KILL THEM!Shooting kids at close range gave Dylan satisfaction..HE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT and his smile proved it. This smile and the words " WOO! HOO! YEAH! " were clear indicators of his enjoyment in killing. Look at this Face and imagine hiding under a table and being shot at. Imagine seeing that smile as he repeatedly shoots you and LAUGHS HYSTERICALLY!Many , many school shooters have been described by witnesses as " being like a robot with no facial expression ,no anger , no happiness and no emotion... ZERO EMOTIONS.Dylan was certainly NOT acting in a robot fashion. He absolutely loved murdering defenseless children. HE FLAMING LOVED IT ![You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| I wonder how Eric felt about himself as he sat down and watched his " Hitmen for hire" rant? Do you think he would have liked or hated seeing himself on film? | |

| Interesting question. I think he would've liked it as it portrayed him emanating anger and vitriol - keep in mind the REB persona - which was a far cry from the more subdued Eric. | |

When i think about it , ( I am glad you mentioned REB )Eric would not have seen himself as Eric on film. He would have seen REB ,REB the tough guy that no one messes with and probably admires the strong and brutal persona of REB. I think REB would have felt proud of the message he conveyed to the world.

I think REB would have felt proud of the message he conveyed to the world. I think all of us have a "REB" side. Wanting to look powerful and adopting a sanctimonious attitude. I find it interesting that Dylan viewed "Vodka" as nothing else but a nickname. There was no alter-ego with Dylan.

Uhm...I don't agree: Vodka may be not Dylan's alter ego, but as I was saying a while ago on another topic, Dylan's story about the tough guy who massacres all the preps. I think in this story he shows his alter ego: who he really wanted to be. With the bad-ass attitude and black duster. Not the shy kid who can't talk to girls. There was just no name for his alter ego, or it must be "The God of sadness" _________________ Ignorance is bliss!-Dylan Klebold

Oh, yeah. I forgot about the creative writing essay. It's just weird how Eric viewed his nickname as something/one he aspired to be/have, while Dylan just thought Vodka was a cool nickname. But as you said, he did have an alter-ego...

If Dylan had told people that his " tough guy " character in the essay ,was in fact a mirror image of himself and was more than just a fantasy ,people may have laughed at him. Saying such things as : " You ain't no tough guy Dylan ! You are timid and shy ! You do not have a strong personality! You are just a kid trying to act tough!" I think Dylan REALLY wanted to be that character and just kept that desire to himself and his writings. During NBK Dylan WAS that character! A cool , cold and calculated murderer. A killer who would not stop killing until he chose to stop killing.

Some author speculated.. and I forget which one, that Dylan read through his essay the morning of 4/20 to psyche himself up into "the man in black's" badass frame of mind. |

Wow, I never knew that! Yeah, definitely must've been some something to gee him up and inspire him to become the protagonist in his essay. Anything of note found in Eric's glovebox?

If Dylan did read his essay moments before NBK ,i wonder if Dylan made several copies and kept them close to hand and used them as a kind of " pick me up ." A confidence booster for times of weakness. You have opened a new line of inquiry for me ( sounding like a cop ) regarding my interest in how E/D psyched themselves up prior to NBK.

Do you notice the people laughing and walking away in the first 30 seconds? I wonder what they felt when they saw that when viewing the film. |

If i were one of them i would feel pretty bad about seeing D/E as they act as hitmen. I wouldn't be happy about being captured by their camera either. I would also feel very thankful for the fact that i didn't " bump into " them during NBK.

Eric V : Yes ,i want him out of my life. Eric H : Alright , well that's cool , uh when were in school , we can , uh , protect you pretty much , uh , any time. And , we cant have any weapons on school grounds , we'll get suspended and expelled , you know , that stuff , but , uh off school grounds , we can use our computers , get his address and kind of find out his schedule a little bit and take care of him some time. Any time in particular you want this guy taken care of ? Eric V : As soon as possible. Eric H : Ok and uh , we need a weapon , you want this guy to be , uh , any kind of weapon you want us to use? Eric V : I want to see him blown up !Eric H : Blown up , huh ? well , i don't know about that , that's uh , awful , pretty messy , then you get guts all over the place , somebodies going to have to clean it up and the janitors get mad.. uh , i just think we'll use my A.E.B.10 machine pistol on him , probably , maybe the rocket launcher.. Does anyone know who wrote the script for " Hitmen For Hire ." Hiring E/D to blow up a bully is unusual. Hitmen usually shoot their victims in the head and kill them instantly. I am interested to know who came up with the idea of blowing up the bully. I think Eric would have suggested it , but , i don't know.

To me this is Eric's perverse, warped sense of humor using dialog with veiled references: "we can't use weapons inside the school" (Har Har Har) and "blowing up people is too messy" (smirk ) each one his trademark foreshadowing dropping hints of what was to come. I' m sure he silently snickered in class when the video was shown to students.

| Lol @ Eric saying that the "janitor" would get mad because he has to clean up a dead body. _________________ “And may you grow to be proud Dignified and true And do unto others As you'd have done to you”

When Eric V says he wants to " see the bully blown up " ,Eric H hesitates for a moment and you can see his tongue in cheek reaction ( literally )A kind of " Oh if you only knew what were going to do! We ain't going to blow up a fictitious bully ! Were going to blow up this crappy school!! "
