| Guys, I know that this will sound strange, but... I have an idea about a point and click adventure game about Columbine titled "Fog over Columbine"A game where in the first part you play as a student in the school. Constantly in a hurry to reach the next class, where you have to solve a minigame (each class have it's unique minigame) . The minigame gives you a coin at each round if you win it, which will come handy at the second part of the game. In the first part, you have to avoid the bullies or you loose your coins what you had earned in the first part (Meeting with a bully and an unsucessfull try to avoid him will result a removal of one coin). The goal of this mechanic is to make the player hate the bullies and to be in constant stress, since the player will need concentrate to avoid them in order to get more and more coins. The player won't be able to controll Eric or Dylan, but will be able to see their suffering from time to time in the game one way or another (seeing their suffering through cutsceenes or experiencing a similar treatment also through cutsceenes). Once the attack happens on the school, the player will be able control Randy Brown, who will stand in the parking lot and see the school in a complete fog at the beginning of the second part. The fog represents the fact, that Randy knows very little at the beginning of part 2 about the attack. As more and more information he gets, the more areas of the level will be cleared up and more details will Randy be able to see. The player can't fight or harrass other characters, but will be able to talk with them or give advices... or even be able to ask things. Also, the victims will be shown as black-and-white crash test dummies, because the documents mention them as victim [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], victim [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], etc. So through this way the player can feel how the documents are removing the personalities of these poor people who had suffered because of the attack. The more information the player gets, the more detailed the map of the school will be, but (!) the victims will always stay as black-and-white crash test dummies (Let's be honest, we don't want to know how it would look like, when someone who's young gets... you know). A very important thing to mention about it, is that the player will never be able to find out what happened actually, since we either don't know every part of it. But many things will appear in it one way or another (such as cutscenes or half-interactive scenes). Such as the secret meetings, the way how Aaron will sit on the porch and Randy would talk with him about how Eric and Dylan makes their daily nights a horrible nightmare, etc. One thing I would like to mention: I do not support Randy Brown in everything what he says, but I support his effort that he put 21 years into focusing to this case and trying to find an answer. Like it or not, he knows things. | |

| Interesting idea, but how exactly will the coins work? What would they be useful for? Also why not just control the character directly, especially if you are trying to avoid bullies? _________________ <<Yet what is a Nation? Can we actually see the physical lines that divide one from another?>>

The coins would be usefull for the second part, where you could buy hints from Judy about where to look for more clues. You're right about the controlls. Maybe a TPS or FPS camerastyle with "WASD" controls would be better. | |
