one thing I do is I go on a wikipedia for a mass killing and go to the 'References' or 'External links' section

I look for obscure sources of information, forums, websites outside of the Google algorithm. And if you weed through the crap, sometimes Tumblr has interesting info dug up by obsessed tcc people.

I look for podcasts, but you have to be REALLY careful with that. Last Podcast on the Left has some glaring errors in some of theirs that could be fixed with 2 seconds on Google.
