What if one of perpetrators died during shooting?

So I have a really troubling question. Eric was involved in shooting with security officer at the beginning of massacre. As we know, officer was technically able to hit and eliminate E before whole shooting started for good. What would Dyland do in this case? Surrender? Flee? Maybe he was capable of taking the matters in his own hands.
