I think he looks content and a little bemused.
This was the picture they used on the news on 4/20 when they released their names. I don't remember if they then said they died of self inflicted gunshot wounds.
17 year old me thought it was a good looking picture. I was confused by my feelings.

Funny how different people can look at the same picture and see different things. I don't see apathy, a flat expression, or bemusement. I don't see the face of someone who's smiling to take a good picture. What I see (and I know it's influenced by what we know of Eric) is someone who's thinking, "Look at this moron taking the picture, what an idiot!" and smirking to himself about it.

I COMPLETELY agree with you!
A blogger friend showed someone Dylan's senior picture and she said "oh he looks pure evil" and it was the one where he's just kind of grinning softly and neither one of us saw evil.. I mean what he did was evil of course but I think that was interesting.

I agree! There are some people that can take lower quality photos and make them look a little better. Unfortunately, that is not me. Maybe someone here can do it.
Eric reminds me of a model with the way he posed in some of his photos.

Such a waste, he could've accomplished a lot in life if he wasn't in the pit of misery.

This is probably the clearest I’ve ever seen this photo. It’s flipped and the color is a bit different than the others. I can't stand his stupid smirk though.

I just thought of, with the whole ten year challenge thing on Facebook going on I think Eric and Dylan’s would’ve been really sad. When you look at them when they were seven and eight and then you had the last pictures of them with their guns on that day...

They looked like very happy kids. When you compare that to the suicide photo... It's all really sad that they were never able to find any peace with themselves and chose to go down the path they did.

Found this one on Google a few weeks ago. Pretty similar to the one I'm quoting.

Today would have been Eric Harris' 37th birthday. He had stuff going for him. He could have had a good life after high school. If he would have just realized that high school isn't everything and would have just gotten his shit together. It's sad to see what could have been. Instead he took thirteen innocent lives and threw his own away.. It's crazy how fast life& time flies by...

Honestly, I reckon they would rather forget about Eric's birthday. From little things I've picked up on using the tiny bit of info I got, I think they pretty much accepted that Eric was a psychopath. I would imagine they have tried to leave Eric behind as much as possible and focus on Kevin.

This is something I do not believe at all. You don't just lose love for your child. No matter what they do. Even though the Harris family has been silent after the massacre I do not believe that they have just tried to forget Eric. They are handling things very differently from the other families but that does not mean that they would rather forget about him

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I always think of Eric as someone who never really grew up and was still very much like a scared and out-of-his-depth child in so many ways. He tried to hold on to things/people but repeatedly experienced that safety being torn out of his grasp again, which helps explain his controlling but also alienating behaviour. I think he had a sharp eye for what makes people/society tick and was reportedly quite warm and funny around people he knew well, but he was also prone to throwing temper tantrums at an age where that is no longer 'normal' and could get very black/white in thought and emotion more often than not. Some kids bounce back from moving around a lot, but it's well-documented that moving around so much in a child's formative years can have adverse effects on the child's wellbeing later on. One research showed that school mobility in childhood can increase the risk of psychotic symptoms (including hallucinations, delusions, and thought interference) and even suicidal ideation later on. Researchers theorised that moving schools may lead to low self-esteem and a sense of social defeat, which could even trigger physiological consequences that could heighten the risk of things like those psychotic symptoms in teenage years.

It was included in this interview with Eric's friends from Plattsburgh, they showed several pictures of him (if that's what you meant ). I don't know about the soccer video though, I probably haven't seen it...

Thank you!
I only saw it once , in the summer of 1999. I had it on tape for a bit too.
It was from when he was in Littleton, it was the same team he was on with Dylan

No problem! The interview really stucked in my head because of how genuine his friends look when they talk about him being a nice kid, it makes me sad to think about how it went wrong after they moved to Littleton.
