I have some pictures I would like to contribute to the discussion but I am having a hard time figuring out how to upload them.

Wayne and Kathy went to the same high school? Also Kathy has aged really well you could still tell it’s her. And Wayne looks exactly like Eric and Kevin

I'm not sure if Wayne and Kathy attended the same high school. Kathy does look almost the same as she did back then. I agree that Eric looked very much like his dad.

It is really sad I have a teenage son who is in high school and I can't even fathom what they've been through and how they must feel. Probably a mess of mixed emotions.

Even though it’s been 20 years it’s probably even scarier for them to speak out now. Especially with the narrative of sad Dylan and evil Eric that people believe. I am sure that Wayne, Kathy and Kevin have happy stories stories. They can probably write a book that’s just as remarkable about Eric.

I have never assumed that they don’t love Eric just because they haven’t spoken publicly.

I think ppl are pissed about their silence, because they have "accepted " that Eric is a psychopath.
Also because they didn't say goodbye to him neither held a funeral for him.
They mostly blame Wayne for their silence.
They said that Kathy is husband's doormat.
What I noticed from the story Harris meeting with the Mauser's is that Wayne did most of the talking Kathy was more in the background. You could say that Wayne was the chief in the house since he's was in the military.


Because no one was there for him.

So yeah I understand both sides.

I don't think the Harrises would want to speak with Sue. Since Sue has come forward she seems to put most of the blame onto Eric. I can't imagine how that would feel. I don't know if they (the Harris family) believe that Eric was the main force of NBK, but if they think it was a joint effort, or a Dylan push I can't see them agreeing with Sue at all.

It seems like Kathy is an all around mousey person. I am sure being the military man that Wayne is he is used to taking control If Kathy is ok with that I don't see an issue.

We do not know if they had a funeral for him. No one has ever said. All we know is that any funeral was NOT public. they could have had a private service.

I always thought with Eric that his reputation of not handling breakups well probably perceded him. So even if someone wanted to go out with him they were probably worried about the possibility of fake suicide attempts, vandalism, nasty emails etc..

I think Eric (and Dylan) were probably better as a friend than a boyfriend.

It can lead to some great cleanup, but can also make things look uncanny valley / video game cutscenes.

Eric was a handsome young man, I'm sexually attracted to females but just looking at one human being to another I think Eric is a good looking young man. Men can judge other men without being gay. I don't understand why he had such low self esteem and btw Susan was beautiful! I think Eric/Susan would've made a great couple. I just want to know what are the different circumstances Eric speaks of?

Yes, you are probably right, it was people around him who made him feel ugly.I couldn't believe in the basement tapes where he said he even trashes on people who look like him just so he can rip on himself since he hated the way he looks. The books published on Columbine show Eric as the psycho killing machine that lured depressed Dylan into NBK people in this forum have given thoughts on why that may not have been the case. Eric's family has to still love him and Eric himself showed his soul showed emotion speaking of his blackjack friends and friends back in Michigan. Eric Harris was not a blood thirsty psychopath events in his life turned him toward the darkness, nobody is truly a "psycho" they are made by their experiences.

That's honestly fantastic. It's great that many people have overcome pectus excavatum (thank you for telling me the name).

But in high school, some kids are self-conscious about everything. Some kids press on and overcome these issues, but Eric already had so many qualms with his overall appearance that there was no way he could overcome something like this. Especially if people were indeed laughing at him in gym class because of it. It all boils down to the overall mindset of these people. The dude in the image you attached had the willpower to turn his body around like that. Eric, on the other hand, had a weak mind.

body acceptance plays a huge part in maintaining our mental health; to be honest we've become far too strict in judging other people's appearances. The guy on the left looks great too, it's not like he's repulsive or something.
