Here’s some I took at the memorial. There’s better pics already posted by SA in this thread. I was a bit conscious of lining up my camera when there were a lot of people around so I was taking them from the hip, so to speak.

I know in military cemeteries it's common. My dad told me a penny just means you visited the grave and it increases up to a quarter which means you were there when they were killed. I think a nickel might mean you were in training together a dime the same unit? I'll have to ask him again. Then from time to time the money is collected and donated to keep the cemetery running or other veterans programs.

As far as a civilian cemetary maybe a military member/vet did it to show respect the same way? What kind of coins were they? I havent seen that before and I've been a bunch over the years in high school I would go there to pray, my mom was super sick and it could be rough at home and it was a nice place to go. We went for school and church too, then I've been back with my sister and a few other times So its its not a regular thing my guess would be someone who visited is military and wanted to show respect that way.

Thank you. There were some quarters and pennies on the letter O's. I bet that is what is was.

I usually go through when I am at the park. I like to watch the sunset on the hill. Over the summer I was at a 4th of July vent and many of us were going up to the hill since it was so crowded and I remember going by Lauren's plaque and just started crying out of nowhere and someone gave me a hug
